OLDYELLOW Posted May 25, 2014 Report Posted May 25, 2014 plenty of ways about getting things done , but trying to get nature back to balance will need help telling the papers only gets words twisted against these marvelous all singing dancing butchering machines that remove our precious rats with wings if everyone did their bit we would be fine

I agree Dougie but you should read the letter page 10 in the BHW this week ,written by someone CONCERNED, that will tell ye that most doomen are fekin numpties and will not help themselves. Have a read of it , he even mentions the pigeon site, the mans a disgrace. The least said about BOP, the better when these numpties are about.

paddymac Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Shows that we can't even have unity amongst ourselves with clowns like that putting pen to paper, I wonder if he took the time to put his signature to the rapter alliance petition :emoticon-0138-thinking:
Novice Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 We can all do our bit in a small way. However, that will only tackle the tip of the iceberg. We are the reason that the Peregrine has prospered-we feed it. We need to start from scratch and rearrange our breeding and racing schedules to restrict the food supply. It can be done easily but needs to be coordinated at the highest level.

It can be done easily but needs to be coordinated at the highest level. that is the way forward and can only be aheived IF we all work together (doubt it)some people cant get paired up quick enough to rear young birds to feed sparra hen ,stop all treatments for canker for a year as we not only feed the bops but we treat them for canker through or pigeons ,worth a thought
frank-123 Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 If you breed 40 breed 80 instead. Let them feed on the 40 with no rings.
Novice Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Keep birds in all winter and hope for the coldest winter on record that will sort them I lose very few in winter. Peregrine attacks start around the second week in February. There are so many migratory birds in this area in winter that keeping the birds confined has little impact. The highest losses occur when their young are fledged and learning to kill. That is when we should confine our racers and fly only a few select youngsters.
robbiedoo. Posted May 26, 2014 Report Posted May 26, 2014 Keep birds in all winter and hope for the coldest winter on record that will sort them no chance they will survive regardless if cold or not
