Guest jellams11 Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 On which wall should i place my loft? If i look at the back wall it is south, the right wall is west and the left wall is east. If im racing pigeons is the wall, or the tree, or the barn an issue? Thanks
ALF Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 south for me in an ideal world but not always ideal for everone:emoticon-0157-sun: :emoticon-0157-sun:
Guest jellams11 Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Yeh i was thinking that but what about the tree behind, during the summer months you can see past it.
cemetary Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Extend the barn and fly from the position it sits at.
PATTY BHOY Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Extend the barn and fly from the position it sits at. SOUND ADVICE FOR A CHANGE FROM CEM.
andy Burgess Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Extend the barn and fly from the position it sits at.
Guest jellams11 Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Sorry to keep asking this but is there any problem with the tree or barn being there?
andy Burgess Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Sorry to keep asking this but is there any problem with the tree or barn being there?I would say no , my first ever loft had trees galore at the back ,and a 20 foot tall brick wall right next to it ,birds would land on the wall before dropping down to the loft .
andy Burgess Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks Andy!youre welcome , and good luck
eastcoaster Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Trees are always a concern if there are many and too close ,prevents airflow to the loft . But one tree won't cause an issue. Same as others extend the brick building .
Guest jellams11 Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 If i do that which way would the traps face?
paddymac Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 If i do that which way would the traps face?Going by the directions you have already quoted, the traps would probably face north if you extented the barn in its current position.
frankdooman Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Sorry to keep asking this but is there any problem with the tree or barn being there?Only when the hawk attacks the birds get used to it in every day life but when panic sets in they can hit it
Guest Cawdy Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 you could face the loft north and put windows in the south side of an apex roof
