Great to see these old results, tough race for the convoy with plenty of Ayrshire pigeons in the first 50

Believe that the McIvors west section winner was called "Tinto Goldmine" ???

The blue cock I got in 1973 that founded the loft was a grandson of Tinto goldmine

He bred the finest hen I ever raced from Rennes

She bred a federation winner when she was 10 years old

It bred old horseshoe when she was 10 years old

He is 19 years this year and is the grandfather of pigeons I have been 2nd section and 4th open with

Good to see that blood still winning here today

That's not something I can comment on with any first hand experience Stevie.

Whats your thoughts on it?

Ye like the magic in the names Rennes etc but not sure if its even poss now due to constraints at the racepoint.

In my local boozer the men always ask when Rennes is and are quite takin aback when explained. Popular belief of east being best and fairest is challenged when you see these results but as a real believer in democracy then it will be up to the mebership. I also like Ypres but think the good races have as much to do with the distance as anything else.

As I stated earlier, What has changed? thats the biggy for me.

Was a horror frank won by " the graduate" raced by John bosworth followed closely by this years section winner davie Donaldson glassford. Mr Stirling from your neck of the woods had one of the 21 gallant birds timed. :partick-thistle-Crest:

Davie, Jimmy and his dad Jock Stirling. They could race them

True Frank stinker, Whats changed tho mate?

Personally I believe that area of France should be a no go. Mostly due to the vast distance over the channel. Where the shorter crossing should be easier nearer Calais . Although my argument cant really stand up due to years of successful races from that French peninsula. So I am stumped.
