Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 Wilson Noble's Black Rocket ???? Correct 663 miles on the day of liberation after 17 hours on the wing, think she was 11th open Rennes(memory) Strange I have only had three birds reported in the last 4 years. One by Wilson Noble and one by Walter Masson, the doos obviously know where to find a better home have a crack at this one
Mossgiel Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 Davie Blacks hen that was 6th & 7th Kings Cup
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 Davie Blacks hen that was 6th & 7th Kings Cup Need to make them more difficult She was a superb pigeon. 6th,7th and 176th Open Kings Cup. The 176th Open was when she returned injured, marking her retirement to stock- a blessing Davie told me they had a training spot that would take the ordinary pigeon 55minutes to an hour, the 25 Hen would do it in 35. They reckoned this was because she flew over the hills as opposed to round them. When you take into consideration you can count the number of birds to be twice in the top 10 of the INFC king's Cup on your hands, she really was a special pigeon. Her grandaughter was 'Annie Mary'-4th and 8th open INFC king's Cup, and her grandson was 8th and 5th Open. Amazing line of pigeons. Whit a stock loft!!Don't reckon I am likely to see another like it. My father and I have enjoyed racing this line of birds, although not with the same success of the great Blacks of Dromore Our 18th open Alencon,39th Open Ypres and 68th Open Clermont can all be traced back to the 25 hen
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 One for the eyesign man This is what the eye of a Col.Osman award winner looks like. One of the greatest open winners in the history of the SNFC-'5 O'clock Rock'

It was a tiring search, but we've found a photo Mossgiel doesn't know It's Alan Darragh's 'McCartney Cock' Sire,Grandsire,G Grandsire,GG Grandsire etc. to probably the most decorated loft in the history of the INFC. Bit of a doo Here is one of his grandchildren. He was 1st Open INFC Les Landes Kings Cup race in a north wind on a velocity of 891ypm

If you want I will give Wilson a phone tomorrow and ask him .Wilson has,nt had the best of health the last few year shame really for himself and the pigeon game as there is a severe lacage of distance men in fraserburgh nowadays

Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 Exceptional pigeon Rooster . Was it bred by McCartney Brothers from Moira ?? Yip. They were amongst the best fanciers in the land at one time. Think it was 1959 when they won the Kings Cup and were runners up in 1962
Mossgiel Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 You must have some amount of pigeon mags, books, photographs etc about you Rooster.
