How often do people spray there loft for mites ETC,AT the moment i have to spray it everyweak nearly with harkamitex is there anything else that can get shut of them for longer? l also blow torch the floor after scraping out.

Diatomasious earth powder dust boxes and perches rub some on your hands and handle your doos this should take care of things .

If you are having to spray every week then the stuff is obviously not working, try chlorcarb, that should do the trick

never sprayed lofts 6 years as they don't need it

Mine don't rest right meaning they don't want to fly allot spray the loft out the next day they fly allot better and longer and gradually go downhill as the time goes on.

Are we talking about mite in the loft or lice on the birds, I ask because its unusual to have a problem with red or northern mite at this time of the year ??

i must admit not so much of a problem now its i want to iron out allot of stuff that went wrong this year and keep up on it ,i do powder my birds but don't think it was very good .

dont know about red mite but anyone judging at shows this year will tell you far to many birds covered in quill mite so guys are not checking there birds or what there using is not working imo

Might surprise you but a lot of guys don't know what quill mite are, either that or they can't see them or don't know where to look for them

Can you share some knowledge please i think i know what you mean and did notice them better on white fights close to the quille but very small is this right ?They arent there anymore and havent been for a while,as i say this year has been a big learning curve for me .

true davie but was nearly caught out tonight myself with a stock hen i was taking to a show i dipped her 5 days ago and still had some and that was clorecarb but only had a third of a pkt left maybe not strong enough ive got new stuff coming tomorrow let yous know if it works any better

its called multi mite de powder billy greenlands says its good stuff got it this morning you put it on the feed and it worms them to keeps flys away to cause its in the birds dropings im going to try it in the bath water to when the ice melts lol il let you know how it goes guys worth a try its natural and cheap

As you know I'm not very keen on natural products.but I hope it works :animatedpigeons:

me ethere billy but il not knock it till i try it m8 a few guys saying its good stuff you can put it in the deep litter and nest boxes and bowls so il see how it goes try anthing onced m8 off to work now speak to you later
