JohnQuinn Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 At work in the bar but I won't be doing much during the fight !! Froch inside 6 rounds for me.
Delboy Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 Good fight though I think a right good fighter would knock fk out Froch
geordie1234 Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 bit premature ending although another few punches Groves would have been out. Re-match defo Del ye need to remember froch has been in with the best
peter2010 Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 This is IMO why boxing is the most corrupt sport ever I think they were waiting for froch to come back to stop it as he was never going to win it and it will be a even bigger build up to a rematch so £££££££££ but I could be wrong
moscow master Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 cracking fight groves gave a good account of himself but he was up against a guttsy strong willed guy with an iron jaw even after being floored early on and all the big booming rights froch took he still wore groves down as hes so heavy handed thats why hes the champ the same will happen in a rematch whoever am sure groves will go on to be top class
paddymac Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Froch is a warrier and has mixed it with the best, Groves hit him with all he could and he still came back at him. Maybe the ref was a bit premature with his stoppage but I would say that Groves would have been on the canvas cold before the bell rang to end round 9.

The thing is though Froch was on the canvas round 1 Yes round 1 who knows what would have happened if the bell had not saved him? We all assume this and that yet we all know nowt. Also what about a mandatory count on towards Groves to see if he was capable of carrying on it was a title fight.
ForestForever74 Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 Well done to lifelong trickytree Carl Froch. See you at the City Ground at the promotion party :-)

Mandatory counts only legal when a fighter is knocked down. Groves could not defend himself and the Ref was right to stop the fight, or would we rather see another fighter ending up in a wheelchair because the ref wanted to give him "every chance" to survive. I'd rather see a re match than permanent damage to a fighters health. Jmo.

Re-match defo Del ye need to remember froch has been in with the best Froch has been in with the best and has the heart of a lion but he was definitely outclassed in this fight. It was stopped prematurely imo, you just have to look at the UFC fighters and how they recover during a fight when getting the crap knocked out them and then they comeback to win. Froch is a great fighter ( not boxer ) and will be toppled very soon imo.
VMS Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 IMO groves was going down if the ref did not step in, so good decision for me.looking forward to the rematch.
