After 30 years in pigeon racing I’ve decided to take a break to spend more time with my family and fulfil other interests.

As we all know, pigeon racing is a very demanding sport, if you want to succeed, and this can have a knock on effect with family life and other commitments.

I have decided to retain some older stock birds (old favourites) just in case I miss the racing too much, and also it gives me the option to enter birds into one loft races.

The race team will probably be flown out next season by my Dad, then we’ll take it from there.

Over the years I’ve made some really good friends through PB (too many to mention) which I’ll certainly keep in touch with.

At the end of the day it was a relatively easy decision to make............family time comes first!!!!

Alb,

Colin.

It is sad to see another fancier leave the sport,I have only returned this year after 20 years and must say that my wife and I along with our grandchildren have had some super holidays together, something I never done before, but as you say Colin .....family time comes first, good luck and hope the urge to return is kept strong......good luck....JBC/..

I know exactly where you are coming from Colin, as I myself made the decision to leave the sport only last month. I hope you enjoy your time with the family m8.

Sorry to read that you`re taking a step back from the sport. I`m sure you`ll keep a close eye on what`s going on. It`s not easy when you`ve a young family to consider, but I`m sure you`ll be back sooner rather than later. Enjoy you`re free time.

All the best Colin , I know you Trudy and the boys have things in the pipeline , wishing you the best of luck

And as I told you I'm always at the end of the phone for a chat

See at the end of the month when I'm down your way .

Cheers. Jim

Colin i wish you Trudy and the boys all the very best and if Trudy drags you to her home town on a race day you know if i am still racing where you would be most welcome.

Thanks guys for all your comments......they're much appreciated.

You never know I might enjoy the free time to do other things so much that I might not return to racing.......things change, people change.

I've came to the conclusion, there's more to life than pigeons.

Cheers,

Colin.
