greenlands Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Coincidence or not, stock birds are going through the moult fairly well, yesterday tea time I made myself a sarnie and had some watercress left over so I threw it into the stock birds. This morning a LOT more than usual feathers, will do the same with race birds today and see what the outcome is. :emoticon-0138-thinking: Might be a connection :emoticon-0138-thinking:

greenlands Posted September 28, 2013 Author Report Posted September 28, 2013 This is the water cress that grows in the local stream or can be bought in Adsa etc.not the small stuff in tubs.
Wiley Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 Always buy it from Asda and give it to the birds once a week as well as lettuce.

sammy Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 the dutch guys swear by butter milk cant say i saw any difference when i tried it cod liver oil on the feed and liddles multi vits in the water every day till there on there last flight is all i use just now the moult is a natural occurrence cant understand why there is a need to give them things to make them moult faster ,think it can put the feathers under some stress making them grow faster fresh water , linseed and good feeding and peace and quiet and let them get on with it
just ask me Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 buttermilk is more used to kick-start the moult some swear in it on darkies to get them started
