Big Davie Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Another first class toss today, it was raining doos when they came which gives the youngsters confidence as well as keeping them fit, all home in 15 minutes
Delboy Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 For 2014.Good idea is to basket the ybs and onto the transporter the night before the training, the driver can take them to the training site in the morning. Obviously, this happens only before the season starts. Gives them brilliant experience for whats to come.jmo. On the other hand you can basket them yourself at the loft but I think on the transporter is better.

Delboy Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 I do it myself nearly every night before training getting the transporter to come round the night before would be ideal but it would be double the wages for the driver Hows it double the wages when its the same time driving Geo, maybe an extra 10 or 20 quid.
airdrie2 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Hows it double the wages when its the same time driving Geo, maybe an extra 10 or 20 quid.IT wont be double time D but it would take up 4 days of time two days collecting 2 days lib extra fuel as vehicle returns to depot at night to park up due to insurance two extra days part used for extra 20 - 40 quid remember on training days transporter leaves 7.45 am and dosent return till aprox 2:00 pm
Guest bigda Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 bigda here again for the Pilgrim, looking through this thread i cant believe what i am reading here, there are men gloating and saying great training, others state great education for the doos, birds going through the motion of getting home, yet making a ar se of the fancier come race day, on the simple fact all the training is off the line of flight, and at most the birds are what 25 mile out, yet will not vote for 2 kelso races that i find very puzzlingone minute, the members are all wanting easy training and schooling, yet teach there birds to come from a place they are never going to come from. there ain't a bird in the lanarkshire truck racing home but only meandering home, and this is going to kill the racing in the lanarkshire fed, i have seen these libs and the birds have not got anything on there mind as the zig zag all the way home, no effort do i see, is being made by the bird to brake for home, and that tells me its a poor way of training young birds, all flying in a ball, nothing more in there head as far as using it, in how to get home on there own, the only advantage i see here is in the guys that have birds entered from the likes of hillbilly land,, they at least have the sense to see the advantage this has on there birds, and they know should they train with Glasgow it would only put them in the same position as 90 percent of the lanarkshire fed flyer's. forget the ball racing get your birds into transporters that have birds that are going to brake quicker and are helping you not have birds that depend on big batches to get home

geordie1234 Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 kelso is too close for a lib of 5,6 or 7000 doos imo bigda
Guest bigda Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 kelso is too close for a lib of 5,6 or 7000 doos imo bigda that is the ideal place, they ain't far from home should they make a mistake you put birds up all together 80 mile out all you have is the one big ball 80 mile out, circling about drawing attention to them self, and they will join in with every bugger they see. why would the term be single tossing be done by the proper fancier, its to get the bird home by its self, and kelso not being to far away and going there would be to help the birds, not the young bird national minded daftys that would only enter say about 200 birds max from the lanarkshire yet demand and want to control over 17,000 lanarkshire doos.

TheHigg Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 Did you drive Yuill and Dodds lorries during the miners strike as well Higgy i am out the door at 7.30 so fed transporter no good for me [pick up times ] unless you would like to squeeze another 3 baskets into youre fiat anyway i was made an offer i couldnt refuse by the nice mr grenfell who along with the nice mr franny murphy and son who go out of their way to come down to craigneuk in the morning and put my birds in the trailer for 3 pounds [yes 3 pounds]nae brainer :emoticon-0140-rofl: to the uneducated man like myself thats 6 pounds per week for all my birds what are you paying
