jimbhoy29 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 who would u say in scotland has the most consistent disttance birds on a hard day against the wind birds
geordie1234 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Too many to list to be honest But your usual candidate's seem to always be at the right end on the result
moscow master Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 John McNeill Davy ElliottDerek hay John bosworth Jocky king The list is endless Jim it's just your own opinion
walterboswell59 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 john cosgrove john alston kerr stainthorpe billy davison gg rankin jim cullen jim hannah the list is endless m8 these guys been doing it for years
JohnQuinn Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 John Cosgrove has been timing in on hard days for as long as i can remember. Jim Cullen is the man to give you birds to breed you winners, including 1st Open SNFC races. This mantle used to be Geprge Brownlie's but IMO Jim is now the man to buy stock from.

geordie1234 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 peter cairney of the burnbank club bought quite a lot of birds of cullen dont think he has done anything with them ?Yet the national winner at Newbury got two latebreds and they bred the national winner. You can buy the doos but you canny buy the dooman???? (taking nothing away from Peter Cairney) Personally I think Jim Hannah pigeons should be included his record into the west is second to none Ps has Peter sent across the channel yet?? 500 plus miles????
Guest chad3646 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 george jim hannah has been included by walter boswell, personally i think it is between g,g rankin and jim hannah in the west that is, although when they had there good wins they were not far of winning a national i think jims best was 2nd open, if my memory serves me right i think gareth has 5 west section wins and jim four
geordie1234 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Yeah cullen was 2 nd open tours but he has been in the top ten a few times I think he has won the section a few times and also 2 nd section behind the rankin on a few occasions. For me in this section you would have to include rankin, hannah , cullen and donaldson there is a few more I would go to for doos but too many to list.
VMS Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Davy Donaldson ,billy Davison would be the first 2 on my list from the West

Won't be too far off the record I wouldn't think. From memory these are the open positions won by his region winners 2nd Open Sartilly2nd Open Chenoise4th Open Rennes4th Open Andrazel5th Open Alencon13th Open Rennes26th Open Sartilly I'm pretty sure Gareth and his father have won it more than 5 times as well. Including one of the greatest performances within the SNFC-Champion 'Westbound'.

Guest chad3646 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 rooster have you got any of the stats for davy or gareth
peter pandy Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 In my opinion the questioner asked which loft was the most consistent in hard races and the answer has to be with absolutely no disrespect to those other fanciers mentioned, John Bosworth has to be the most consistent. No doubt Rooster will come up with facts and figures or at least I hope so LOL.
VMS Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Relevant to myself would be who would you look too in the west
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 Theres a member on the site who will know Gareth and his late father's stats better than anyone Theres a couple who will know Davy's a lot better than myself as well. He was 2nd Open in the hard Rennes race John Bosworth won with 'The Graduate' and he has won the west section twice in the last three seasons,he raced two Gold Award winning hens that I believe were grandmother and granddaughter?. Without raking through books at this time of night I will leave it at that

If your thinking along the lines of Messac 2011,Bourges, Niort 2012, Rennes 97 etc. Jock King takes a bit of beating
