Rooster J. Cogburn Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 The prospect of pigeons scoring from two SNFC cross channel races in the same season interests me.The idea of one doing so three times scares me. Lady of Courage-a 1978 blue bar hen bred and raced by the Newcombe Bros,Macmerry 1980 15th June-27th Open SNFC Avranches(3639 birds),505miles in 10 hours 21 minutes 27th June-68th Open SNFC Rennes(7359 birds),543 miles in 15 hours 12 minutes 21st July-160th Open SNFC Avranches(5722 birds),505miles in 13 hours 54 minutes 1981 27th June-29th Open SNFC Rennes(6445 birds),543 miles in 17 hours 4 minutes(timed second day) 1982 12th June-27th open SNFC Sartilly(3926 birds),500miles in 13 hours 38 minutes 27th June-31st Open SNFC Rennes(5983 birds),543 miles in 13 hours 59 minutes 16th July-165th Open SNFC Sartilly(4821 birds),500miles in 13 hours 9 minutes SNFC career winnings £6977.35 I believe Victor Lough's "Rythm" achieved similar feats.Any more you can think of racing in the SNFC??

Indefatiguable seems a suitable name spot on Lewis! Willie Kelly later on flew a fantastic hen who scored from Niort 670 miles 3 years on the bounce in the 90s. ;)

Novice Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 Strangely no one has mentioned Fortune Lady yet. The best guy to speak about the Spitalhill pigeon would be Kenny Young as Willie Kelly's partner John Young was his dad.

peter pandy Posted March 27, 2013 Report Posted March 27, 2013 RED ROCK was a blood red cock and one of the best pigeons I ever handled and am sure he scored in 1975 from Usher Vaux Beauvais,Avranches 1, Rennes, and Avranches 2.

I heard when this bird died it was stuffed and mounted by a taxidermist and kept in a glass case. Not sure if theres any truth in it?

Rooster J. Cogburn Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Posted March 28, 2013 A lot of top birds mentioned
