One of the biggest problems that fanciers come across come through mice urine! I have heard many fanciers say the old "No mice here" and when I ask if they have traps or bait down they say no!! Must think Mice just stay away from there loft and only there loft! Mice are everywhere and I would encourage all fanciers to try keep on top! Hard to tell when birds have picked up anything through mice untill there out! Very slow when flying and wont fly long!

I have bait down, check it most days and top up if required. :animatedpigeons:

Yeah me too. Also traps in corridor. Only ever caught them in garden shed but have traps down 24/7

no mice in my loft m8 , have had mice in old loft before but that why i built the new loft whole front with 1/4 mesh and all the eaves spaces filled with mesh to make sure the we bassas dont get in , as i live surrounded by woods and feilds mice are common to say the least and the dogs are always killing then on the slabs outside back kitchen door also kill the odd weasel to :emoticon-0167-beer: :emoticon-0167-beer:

Plenty of mice kicking about mine, I kill them constantly .I HAVE POISON/TRAPS EVERYWHERE and I still see the odd sign of them.I rarely see them unless lying dead but when I take my dog out to the loft during the night, she goes mad.IMO, mice are everywhere and you can only keep the numbers down but cant eradicate them entirely.

aye Delboy so hard get rid of, i,ve had walls striped out 3 times try,n clear f**kers,

didn,t bother we birds for 4-5 years, no point breeding ybs they must pick at droppings when they still in box, reduced them but they still thier, and with mice u will then attract cats hanging around loft, birds wont get rest at nite we them, so no rest, no fly,

delboy i should also like to add it, about the poisoned bait and its misuse

years ago the next door neighbour was bothered by rats she called out rentokil

the guy appears just starts to through it under the huts willy nilly

he looks over the fence to me and said any pets about here as said what the f... do you think they are ,any way a way he goes next morning lets the doos out i,m on an open bowl at this time

and just by luck i saw this bag two feet from the womans hut the rats had pulled it out it was busted they were seed all over the place there was me down on my hands and knees picking it up

what iam trying to say it should not be thrown every where under hut side of your huts

it should placed where only the vermin can get it

for instance the rat burst it under the hut the robins the wrens hedge sparrow,s they eat it and it,s good night vienna the owl,s take the poisoned mouse at night bang
