Guest stb- Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 I would liked to have to seen Lanarkshire fed going to Clermont with the Nat which would give us a 500 mile + plus race think its a pity we don't have one.that would be a good thing jim
ALF Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Thats because you take the easy option from Ypres. The reason Lanarkshire started going to Ypres for our longest race was all to do with it being in early July old bird season over and then you had plenty of time to train your yb's without worrying about training old birds tae for another fortnight
lanarkshire lad Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 that would be a good thing jim It was these races that usually sorted out the fed averages you could gain or loose a couple of hours which is a good thing for the pigeon sport , domination was never heard of in they days that I can remember.???

Some of the great fanciers of the past from the west will be birling in their graves

geordie1234 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Still plenty of us send to Clermont but the guys that don't have plenty of time to train yb'sOn the topic of training young birds I really hope we can use our transporter's too train mid week I think this will vastly improve our returns all the young birds trained to fly straight into lanarkshire and getting a good mix up, if ye flew a few races and trained midweek with the fed with big birdage yer young birds are getting more schooling/training races. Also providing income for the fed to pay off the Geraldy's Hope it happens

JohnQuinn Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Why not hold an "Open To All" Race from Liege the week after Ypres ??
novo10 Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Why not hold an "Open To All" Race from Liege the week after Ypres ?? can we get in
JohnQuinn Posted January 29, 2013 Report Posted January 29, 2013 Aye Derek, that's my idea on it, like a Mini National, open to all regardless of where they come from N, S, E, or West OR What organisations they are members of, the race would be subject to Lanarkshire race rules and it would be our Controller/s who took charge.
THE FIFER Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I have unapproved a few post which are off topic and a wind up I think, so please keep the thread to true facts and discussions, what the subject is meant for, thanks.
