Must say i'm disappointed that the donor bid over the top of me, a think this practice should be banned.

John i bought my birds back because imlooking after my oldmans birds until he goes mine will just be sent as trainers for nat as it was for a good cause 40% arson fund i put 2 in was going to buy 2 but that wouldnt be fair on the seller if i bought his birds and not be able to race them buying my own gave me the option of being involved if i get the chance to race youngbirds(hope not it'll meen hes dead) i kept an eye on sale as soon as it was over i contacted the boy that was bidding on my birds and offered him 2 youngbirds i am more than happy to let my birds go to the under bidder and i will make up the dif not a problem i get more fun when someone dose well with my birds than i do winning myself

As i said in my PM, it was the manner in which it was done that has left a Bitter taste in my mouth.

we r all pigeon men and we should have respect .but i take it its not like that on here.he has gifted me 2 ybs that says it all .

its no big deal lads i was willing to pay a lot more for my birds the under bidder was always going to be offered 2 youngbirds i just wanted the option of having 2 in the b/b if i race ybs . If i bought anyone elses and dont race them not fair on seller . My fault i should have just put a donation in.Its only doos.

Sale going well just a reminder you are expected to race these young birds as that is what they have been donated for

Club , Fed or National even a One loft race

Good luck

John, first of all, I am very sorry you feel this way, how ever I bid on both my entrants (like many others) at 13.06hrs, which still left just under 8hours of bidding left for others to bid on my birds. I was not on my laptop at the end of the sale. So, plenty of time for any other interested parties to place a bid. Why should someone who has entered birds be discouraged from bidding on his/her birds, and possibly not end up with a youngster to actually race for the winnings? (never actually entered a breeder/buyer, where this was the case)http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gifI would be very interested to hear if your club/fed, do this, and inform those donating birds that they can not bid on them. If so, I think this would put some off, from entering/donating youngsters, to such breeder/buyer sales/auctions.

Feedback such as this, makes me wonder why I bother entering birds at allhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0127-lipssealed.gif

11 of the 41 entrants were bought back by the original ownershttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif Let;s not forget were also looking to raise money for the Arson fund, so the more bids the better.

Why do folks wait until a sale is over before they decide to disagree with the rules? surely, if you felt this way, then you should have raised your concerns/suggestions, prior to the breeder/buyer starting, for admin to consider.http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif

That's the thing about auctions, some times, some will end up dissapointed.

How ever, as I said at the start of this post, I am sorry you feel this way.

Brian

GOOD LUCK TO ALL BREEDERS AND BUYERS, AND MAY THE BEST YOUNGSTER WIN!http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/animatedpigeons.gif

Brian, it's very sad to see this situation, the breeder buyer has been running a couple of years now with no problems. I feel all birds entered should be auctioned. I've never competed in a breeder buyer where the breeder couldn't buy his bird back. If this is the case with an online breeder buyer, with many people from all over the British isles from the site courier costs would kill it, as most cost around £40 now. If you take the average sold being £30 per bird, it means your racing a youngster priced at £70 including carriage and for me it's to much money that can be lost off the loft and not even entered into a race basket, just my opinion.

Totally agree, Ryanhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/animatedpigeons.gif

Don't think we need to make a simple thing like a Breeder/Buyer complicated by having add-ons to the bidding etc. What we must remember is where the 40% is going and if you are not 100% okay with set-up then don't participate. Hat off to Ian for organising event and best of luck to all who bid for birds, especially B Massey. Following on from an earlier thread I think it's a great idea to keep the site updated about birds progress. AW THE BEST
