nothing to worry about, birds are fine after a few days, only thing is they all don't get it at the same time, a bit like ybs, as some are getting over it others start, i think we will see more of it after this weekends race :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

chlamydia of the eye , as of the eye then this would result in orientation been a problem . But i still think this is been caused mainly by overcrowding people breeding huge teams and not been able to properly manage them.

Watch for sticky eyes the eyes have a glazed sticky appearance and not bright clear and shiny as supposed to be , I still fear this is many been caused by overcrowding poor ventilation and bad management

I'm sorry Mark, I have to disagree with you, I have been to lofts racing 6 birds in a 6 x 4 with this problem, and believe me anyone that knows the guys results at sprinting he is up there with some of the best. His loft is comfortable and defiantly not over crowded.

I have had this problem this year and last year but we've found the day after Slipsanol it has gone. I believe it is a respiratory ailment that's been knocking about for the last 3 years. There's a lot of it in the baskets at marking but when you point it out to fanciers they can't seem to see it.

I first came across this in 2005 we called it swollen eye,we noticed a lot of ybs in the baskets had it at marking nights,i was told it was a form of respitory and treated it with a tylan based antibiotic which cleared them up,a lot of people did not even notice it until it was pointed out to them.

Ive had a few with it last week and i noticed another one today with it. I put Golden eye drops in there eyes and it cleared up within a few days do you think thats enough or is there something more sinister going on inside????????? iam told ornicure works wonders for it but i dont want to give antibiotics if i can avoid it.

Id say it's all dependent on results if there not performing as expected but look pictures I'd be more inclined to say there is an under lying problem and the thick eyes would have been an indication of it.

What is the stuff you mention called Slipsanol, cant seem to find anything about it.

Tony, been advertised in the BHW for as long as I can remember, looks much like brown sugar, you could in affect use nazaline both are used for the same purpose, but slipsanol in my opinion is less harsh on the pigeon, but still as effective
