Guest bigda Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 remember fed delegates meeting this week , agenda young bird racing and the possibility to have the race put back a week or 2. i know this has its problems fanciers normally go on holiday after racing, the natural fliers wing and molt condition, but on the plus side if the race could be better attended the next year with the birds not been sent to every race so as the next year yearlings will be plenty full

geordie1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 after much thought on this I would like it to remain the same
ALF Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Not fussed 1 way or the other to be honest I have now had 4 tosses starting at the fair weekend same as always so the weather has held them back so far But it looks like I will be voting to put the racing back a week as that is what most of the members in my club want
geordie1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I was originally for it but at that point I was looking out my window with the rain pissing down with no good days in site but since then I have had 7 tosses the weather has been fine. Alf will this mean we will miss a longtown all together or the full yb programme starts a week or two later?

Am no sure what will happen Geo we will just need to wait and see what happens at the meeting mate???

Alf will this mean we will miss a longtown all together or the full yb programme starts a week or two later?Said a week ago that it was an over reaction by the officials to call a meeting, my own club have voted to delay the racing, only because it gives them another week to sit on their arses, but this vote is only if the raceprogram keeps the same and then finishes a week later, if racepoints don't remain the same then its the status quo. I have been told that the race controller of the Lanarkshire fed is running about drumming up support for members to send there pigeons in a training van on Saturdays from Kelso. Morrally very wrong in my opinion.
geordie1234 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 hope it stays as the programme states Gareth

JohnQuinn Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 hope it stays as the programme states Gareth There will be NO VOTE to ALTER the race program, it is simply status quo or move the whole program back a week or 2, as i stated last week i am neither here nor there about it as i won't be going to every race anyway.

tyson Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 national should have a meeting aswell to put young bird nat back a week as fed will end up having races on same day jmo
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 national should have a meeting aswell to put young bird nat back a week as fed will end up having races on same day jmoNot Lanarkshire Peter, we are due to finish on the 1st of September, SNFC young bird national surprisingly is on the 15th Sept, if Lanarkshire put the racing back a week it will be spot on for the guys that are interested including myself.

I have been told that the race controller of the Lanarkshire fed is running about drumming up support for members to send there pigeons in a training van on Saturdays from Kelso. Morrally very wrong in my opinion.dont agree its wrong only guys that dont want to go to longtown etc and want to go east will go anyway as theres plenty other options open to them and other feds quite happy to get some extra revenue , at the end of the day if you send your birds somwhere and it turns out bad its your own fault you sent them , so if folk dont want to send to a certain race or races its there birds and they dont have to go . some folk only choose to train there yb and dont even send to the yb races so are they morraly wrong aswell , no one should be rail roaded into sending there birds to any race if they dont want to and none should be forced to send with threats of suspensions or memberships withdrawn as has been previously posted . These contentious issues have happend in every fed every where over the years and when folk have things ramed down there throats thats where history shows splits in memberships happens . Each to the own and i have no interest in who sends where east or west its up to the individual what they do with there own birds .
budgie Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Its not over -reacting its common sense which should always pre-vail.You only have to look at the weather this week again and why are some hell bent in throwing youngsters into racing which are not truly prepared is way beyond me.

JohnQuinn Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Would just add that on reflection, the validity of the meeting was questioned therefore a vote to Change the program WOULD have been challenged and imo the decision would have been over turned on appeal.
Guest bigda Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 the result of the meeting is, the birds go as the listed times on the fed book .
Delboy Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 the result of the meeting is, the birds go as the listed times on the fed book . Whats the listed times Danny?

Some amount of effort went into finding out how the member's wanted there delegate to vote. The delegates waste fuel and time to attend a meeting which was illegal and should never been called.Guess the person who knows the rules and was going to object could have contacted the fed earlier just to save time and effort.
tyson Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 dont see how you can say the meeting was illegal it was called to possibly put back your race programme one or two weeks to give your members a chance to get young birds a bit more training we all know the weather has been a *expletive removed* this year but you have got to remember they are only young birds send a lot of untrained young birds to your first race and see what happens remember if you dont look after your young birds you have no future
