WE ARE HAVING A GENERAL MEETING DOWN HERE ON SUNDAY AND THAT IS ONE OF THE THINGS ON THE AGENDA,weather has not been fit to get much training in for us and if the races go ahead next week as planned we intend to skip the first one or two until we get them trained a bit more

The North West Fed are having a meeting , about putting the young bird racing back a week, good idea in my opion..

Lanarkshire are not due to start the young bird season until the 28th, a lot of feds that are putting there racing back are feds that are due to start on the 21st.

Perhaps if the weather doesn't improve to get the young birds trained over the next 10 days then there may be a need to something drastic. Looking at the forecast until Sunday, it looks like you will get a toss on Thursday, Friday and Saturday then there is still another 2 weeks to go.

Ayrshire fed had to many members objecting to changing the start date to the .21st , so young bird programme starts this Saturday, can't see there being many away .

Solway moved theirs back a week bit of a no brainer given the weather and fits in well, even better than original!!!

The Up North Combine was due to start racing young birds on the 28th July - and racing for young birds has been put back a week - 1st race now August 4th

glasgow fed has cancelled our first race on saturday, its near impossible to get the youngsters trained .

sounds like a good idea. even if the week the racings supposed to start has decent enough weather to toss them the extra time wouldn't go a miss

We are going to enquire with the Haulier whether moving the program back is a possibility, if he can accommodate the change there will be a delegate meeting next Wednesday to decide on it. If the haulier cannot accommodate it then we will have to carry on as it is.

This is going to be another f up Lanarkshire fed racing at charnock Richard the same day as the young bird national and the guys on natural racing bald pigeons

Race program should be left alone, we don't start racing for two weeks which is plenty of time especially as the possibility of training looks to be reasonable over the next 5 days. Some feds are due to start this week and i can understand them putting there program back 1-2 weeks because of the bad weather that they have had. But not Lanarkshire, if our members are not ready for the first race then they can start them at the 2nd race.

I can see you feel strongly about this Gareth but there were several members asking if a move was possible because they haven't had time to get their pigeons ready for the 28th. You may well be in the majority and the dates will stay as is, but there have been enough enquiries about it so we felt the only answer was to call the delegate meeting.

All i would say, and this is to all Lanarkshire Fed members, MAKE SURE your delegate represents the view of the majority of your club members and not just their own preference!!

That will obviously still not please everyone but i think its the fairest solution to what is a problem for many members this year.

 

Me personally, i don't go to the 6 young bird races and its usually the first 1 or 2 that i leave out so its of no concern to me when it starts, but i will be going to the last race regardless of when it falls.
