Guest pigeonguy147 Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 birds will be brought back watch this space but no one wants to make the decision
Guest pigeonguy147 Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Where will they be brought too?dont know that yet but guess it will be uddingston
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Each club has to ask its members whether they want to come home or wait til Thursday where the weather looks favorable for a lib. And then get back to the fed with which way its club wants to vote. They are in the best vehicle in Scotland and pigeons have been in the basket for 7-8 days and still came home in fantastic condition before.

JohnQuinn Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 The delegates voted to bring the birds home. The vote was 14 to bring home, 1 to sit until Thursday and 1 abstained so they are en route home just now. Ayrshire doos will be dropped off and the transporter will return our birds to the Central Marking stations where they left from.

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 gareth club delegates have been asked the question not the members and the concensus is that the birds will be brought back to uddingston club which is the rulingDiaspointed, was all the club delegates at the race?? New it would come back to bite the Lanarkshire fed in the bum when they brought the race marking forward to wedensday instead of the planned Thursday basketing. Should have marked two hours earlier on the Thursday which would have left plenty of time to get the ferry. That extra day would have made all the difference, terrible decision by Lanarkshire fed. JMO Every aspect of Lanarkshire fed is amaturish. From race results taking two weeks to the transporters to the pathetic cummunication. No wonder there's more alcoholics in Lanarkshire than any other part of the UK. Rant over

Rant over have to agree with you gareth i don't know about all the delegates being at the race but were all of them contacted??? i know ours wasnt. we had no clue any of this was going on and have spent about a tenner on *expletive removed* libline looking for information (should of known better LOL). only found out when i came up the road and had a check on here that the birds were coming back. the lack of communication realy needs sorting out. we live in the 21st century expletive remove. even my 78yo granda has a mobile so i don't see what the problem is ? or am i missing something

Come on now Gareth would you confine Paula Radcliff to a phone box and feed her inappropriate food for a week before the Marathon and expect her to give of her best?
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Come on now Gareth would you confine Paula Radcliff to a phone box and feed her inappropriate food for a week before the Marathon and expect her to give of her best?Been in the baskets before for 8-9 days and the birds have flown back in great condition, I look forward to handling each pigeon at the club tonight as they come out of baskets.

I only look forward to handling my own. After 8-9 days you are only judging the ones which made it home.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 I only look forward to handling my own. After 8-9 days you are only judging the ones which made it home.Well never know but perhaps the ones that would never make it home after 8-9 days in the basket are the same pigeons that wouldn't have made it home after 1 day in the basket
Novice Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Well never know but perhaps the ones that would never make it home after 8-9 days in the basket are the same pigeons that wouldn't have made it home after 1 day in the basket As you say we will never know. You may be right or you may be wrong but on this occasion I will be happy to pick mine up.I feel cheated not having a race but as time wore on this was the right decision for me.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 Back half an hour ago from the club were the pigeons were brought back from Carantan, personally pulled out all 50 pigeons from the baskets and 45 of them were handling really good. Looking at them in the baskets before they were brought out, they showed great vibrancy, energy and full of life. Wrong decision to bring them back when a Thursday liberation would have provided a good flying day, even from Carantan were they were supposed to be liberated from.JMO History on some of trophies now has a blank year which could have been avoidable.

Ayrshire pigeons will be at Crosshouse club from 8:30pm for collection.
VMS Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 So who has won the Lanarkshire Feds averages.?????????????????????????
frank-123 Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 So who has won the Lanarkshire Feds averages.????????????????????????? I think Walter Boswell in my club will be very close
JohnQuinn Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 So who has won the Lanarkshire Feds averages.????????????????????????? It'll be a while yet before we know that. The clubs have to forward claims for all the Average trophies in the Fed and they won't get the claims in for weeks. I know there is a time limit on claims but canny mind how long it is
