Wind was south west. Valenciennes is very near France / Belgium border. Maybe making for shortest sea crossing Calais / Dover? And maybe mine continued into Belgium?

W.D. Posted July 1, 2012 Report Posted July 1, 2012 Got a reply by e-mail it belongs to a French lady it seems, called Stephanie Herbin, she thanked me for signalling her pigeon that has found itself at your home, but she lives in France between Cambrai and Valenciennes and its a long from there. Looks like that has been the case, I e-mailed her again and the bird was lost at the 1st y/b race a couple of weeks ago from a race near Paris.
WulDon Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 Very likely it would go back to its old loft don't you think? NO!

So we feed our pigeons the best mixtures made up by experts on the continent give them supplements that make them sparkle exercise them regular to get them to peak fitness and give them a roof over there head and wait until they reach maturity and a young bird with half a tail on a poor diet and roughing it for a fortnight flys 500mls easier than most of the convoy it found itself caught up in
Gelbs Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 We found a French racing pigeon. Were lucky to find someone that spoke French up the road, and he said to release it where we phoned him via tag on his leg. Kept it in a cage for a day, fed it with water and food, then he flew off tonight. Hopefully back home.
