b.massey Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 As i have said in previous posts seems everyone can delay basketing bar the scots Can this not be remembered and changed at AGM 2013?
Delboy Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Spoke to President tonight about birds being moved to Cheltenham. He said it was a committee decision???????????? Mind you, he never said it looking me straight in the eye. I told him I was disgusted with the decision as I said in my objection which was read out at the meeting.
Henrik Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 As i have said in previous posts seems everyone can delay basketing bar the scots Some of us who run the marking stations actually have to book and use up our holidays to run these, maybe next year some of the ones who dont work could replace us on the committee and then I could just come along and send my birds, stand about blethering for an hour or so and turn deaf when help is required, would also mean that I could maybe have a real holiday instead of a couple o days every time there is a National race. In my opinion the one that do the grumping are the ones that do F e ck all, so here,s your chance get along to the AGM get on the committee n see how much work is involved in all of this.

As I said if you all think it can be run better come along and run it, see how much fun it really is, Me I,m niteshift the night before the Niort marking, the night of the Niort marking, the night of the Ypres marking so that will be Three days with no much sleep all because I cant get holidays that week, also the halls have to be booked, the one we use has Line Dancing and Zumba classes which the people concerned has kindly put off to accommodate us.What do we get for our trouble, Grump Mumps n Moans.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 As i have said in previous posts seems everyone can delay basketing bar the scots Delayed basketting sometimes work, but sometimes with the ever changing British weather, you can be left behind and may well have missed a reasonably good racing day. This has happened with Lanarkshire over the last few years, feds have cancelled but we have still went down the road and had perfectly good racing. The Irish National Flying Club only have one marking station at Lisburn, where as the SNFC spoil there members by having up to 9 marking stations from some races. Not saying that the SNFC should not look into the possibility of delaying basketting but this should only be used when its a blanket band of weather across the uk were there is no chance of a liberation. Perfect days are few and far between on the British isles, and when one does come along there is still no guarantee of a successful race (Messac 2011 spings to mind), all we can hope for is the doos get a fair crack of the whip. Mike i believe that doos will get a liberation on Saturday morning 05.30 - 06.00 and with the strong west, south west winds and showers it will be a tough fly into the Solway and west of Scotland. Forecast is not the worst i have seen.
