tintin Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Although not privileged to all the facts, questions have to asked?,if your going to move them,I take it the weather has been checked, time restraints have been taken into account, not a great start to the national season

Delboy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Time constraints ? They were libbed at 3 pm from Eastbourne last year what ye on aboot, doos were up 10.45am eastbourne last year
blaz Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 it did not take long to get their so won,t be long getting them back Not the distance that would be my concern but the unsettling of the birds. the birds have been at newbury for days taking in everything all around them the magnetic pull north ect ect. so with my little knowledge of racing i would have them back to newbury as quick as i could.also looking at the weather for tomorrow morning should be no problem with a liberation.also we have all put distances down for newbury so helping with the result if we get a race. their will be a few of us myself included that have not got a distance for cheltenham.also cheltenham is 40 mile plus shorter in distance .so taking them back to newbury gets my vote what are other members thoughts on getting them back to newbury look at this like for tomorow morning newbury http://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/newbury

b.massey Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 decission taken was not ours I have resigned as race controller wish everbody with there race whenever cheers peter calder Peter I think a few people will follow after what I have seen today in the decision or non decision making. And if someone fancies telling us where our birds actually are and what the plans are it would be helpful to know!!

andy Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 What a fckn shambles. Thankless job for Race Controllers especially if you work for a living, but what do you expect when 2 of them have more 60 mile races in their own federations than the whole of the country put together. Also one of them had the birds held over on Friday morning when the transporter hadn't even arrived at Newbury. As I said thankless job but skilled controllers needed not YES MEN.
