Leading Doos

I've no doubt that peregrine strikes have been witnessed, but how can anyone say for certain that it is the leading batch and of a certain Federation's pigeons? Scottish Feds at the same race point liberate at 15 minute intervals. Can the leading batch of a following liberation not overtake the back-markers of the one that went 15 minutes earlier?

If you knew the geography of west cumbria and the way the birds broke into the area then you would undersstand better IB.( You maybe do and still disagree wae Blackdog)!

I know what yer sayin about the batches could be anybodies but if you took me to the border at gretna and watch the birds break I could give you a very educated guess at where the leading batches wer heading as could every memeber in the solway cos the know the lie of the land?

So if I seen a batch being attacked on the shore at Annan heading west then there is a HIGH chance that they birds wer Dumfries bound after factoring eta?

Pigeon racing is a lot of luck.... First you need the pigeon healthy, then fit! Have that and you have a chance! I have stood many times at the loft and others in my fed tell me that the first bird they got that day would have been last choice at picking! Untill the day wee can track them we just never know. Saturdays race there some leading birds came home out the north. Then others out west and majority south. Who is to know what batch was leading but its clock that tells winners. Heard all excuses from bad traps, to noisey neighbours! Can't win a race if not in clock

i know what your saying ib but the times im on about are when there's only 2 feds racing into west cumbria, derwent valley and west cumbria feds, going half an hour before each other, ie, derwent valley going ist, longest flying fed so when the ist batch go over half n hour before the west cumbria fed birds they know they have been derwent valley feds birds as they come right up the coast, jmo

Is somebody on here saying that Percy waits for the tired birds, there's only one route into West Cumbria as far as pigeons go and that's via.the coast,Percy hits the first birds through he/she doesn't know there are more to come.Fanciers en-route have told us umpteen times our birds were turned back.Good luck the brave and there are some who do get through and good luck to the fanciers who get them.

no one will ever prove or disprove this theory ,but i have noticed many many a time (you all know the races im on about) when someone in your club thats normally nowhere is well in ,ive said to myself this guy will prob be in as well and so will this guy and so on and guess what at clock check u find out all these guys are well in and the guys that are normally always well in are miles behind .or when u have a good team away you run it through your mind what will be first home then second etc, say you have 30 away and your 20th choice is first back then most of the unfancied birds are back before your well fancied birds its very strange and we always look for an excuse or a reason maybe this is why ?

our birds are 'running the gaunlet' week in week out, if the early batches get hit ye you get a quere result, eg fanciers timing pigeons that arent rated and we also notice fanciers who very rarely make the frame winning prizes... good pigeons are hours late or never seen again, percy doesnt set his watch for the batches coming through, just yer 'donald duck' which batch he hits! good luck to all this week end! :emoticon-0156-rain::emoticon-0123-party:

i no its early bells into the seson but i have noticed the lack of all the back slapping vandendebeles men i take it they dont lick east winds lol

i think i can accommodate you there king billy, did you know the vandabeeles won

both the west fed and the east fed on the same day eh and both races where in to the Lanarkshire, East or West it dont matter one jot

If its percy today what was 25 or 30 years ago that threw up same results ?

most times if it was not the bop, it was the hold overs that had an affect on the results

when birds where only given enough fuel for that days race.
