ginge Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 hi all,ive been in my new club for 2 years now,and tbqh my birds just aint up for the job, nothin is or has proven.so im lookin to start a new family. obviously nobody in my area are gonna give or sell me any,as id be competing against them. so i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good fancier with good pigeons,as im gettin sick of puttin all my effort in and not even gettin on the sheet.im not a new fancier as ive been doin it about 5 years now,but just never been in a position to buy a decent bird,or even better given lol,PS not bothered about pedigrees(waste of time) lol
pigeonpete Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Dont want to sound harsh, but are you sure its the birds? even average birds if fit and healthy would have been capable of the odd minor posistion at club level. do they fly o.k round home? have you ever taken notice of the droppings, or had them tested. i dont know you or your situation. but lots of things could be not right. when you say birds not upto it, what you mean exactly? heavy losses, miles behind? surely there is someone close who can help and advise you? just my little input :-)

Wiley Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Ginge do your homework yourself mate look at the result pages on here for a year see who is continually winning and scoring in there area and approach them for either some young birds or late breds to make your future stock
just ask me Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Ginge do your homework yourself mate look at the result pages on here for a year see who is continually winning and scoring in there area and approach them for either some young birds or late breds to make your future stock exactly also look at location a fancier in a not so good location getting on the fed sheet is ideal
b.massey Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 exactly also look at location a fancier in a not so good location getting on the fed sheet is ideal yeah some people have the perfect location. I have the worst location in my fed by far!! birds come over my competitors head then I give them the time back in overfly. Just get on with it as the more miles the race the less I feel it matters. But I would still like to fly myu birds 3-4 miles north east from here. Am to far on west side and flying east coast
Wiley Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 Might be just my opinion but for Sprint Racing, the federation with Small radius' are the ones to be looking for there's no excuse for wind direction as it's anyone's ball game
