Blue Tooner Posted March 26, 2012 Report Posted March 26, 2012 Sparrowhawk hen killed a yearling cock this evening right in front of the loft. I just nipped into the loft for two minutes and this was when she struck, almost like she had been watching.
billt Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Lost 3 to female Gos this week, wife saw the 3rd. one taken in the air yesterday, they are big, birds don't get a second chance unlike with female spar. Same Gos hit a yearling cock down in front of me today, rescued it but quite a lot of damage to one wing, They are a bl**dy nightmare

Guest Owen Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I have a SH attacking the birds in the air which has never happen before. Up to know I have had 4 attacks during the last 5 days. I will take my birds training evey day to avoid all this if I have to do. If last year is anything to go by, the peregrine will pick the youngsters off when they start to fly. A friend has had terrible trouble with the peregrine taking his babies.
