The irish national flying club has a 20 bird limit on all races which is fair this had to be done as some well known fanciers in northern ireland were sending 8o birds to some nationals against joe bloggs 2/4/6 birds i pity some fellow british fanciers trying to race against large numbers naming no names we all no who they are,and before any mentions quality which is bull as everyone has quality nowadays its just greed they want all the cream ,oh how i love to see them get beat by the small fancier, many of these fanciers even have dvds produced now but never mention on them how many they send, come on you mob flyers lets have an equal par.

Don't see what the prob is sending so many It's only one that wins the race etc no matter what every single pigeon is racing against each other whether it be 500 other pigeons or 5000.

The way things are with the sport aswell I don't think organisations can put limits on

would agree , my old club had one of the best sending 40 odd old birds and sometimes 80 youngsters ,was a pleasure to take a card with only 4 or so sent by me .

I gave my opinion on limits which is only my opinion maybe one day you will realise that because someone thinks different doesn't mean its wrong

still naming no names i know of a fancier who had 280 old birds on his race sheet last year he races in a 12 member club needless to say he was section fancier of the year last year, hes a farmer by the way hed be a great boy to pucrchase from [NOT]

So if a guy sends 80 to the national gets 1st open can you take anything away from him for winning the nat? did that pigeon win because it had 79 loft mates in the race?

Its a personnel choice???? I could build a loft for 200 but could not get them in correct order for the big race????

NO NOT TAKING ANY THING AWAY FROM THE PIGEON IAM TALKING ABOUT FAIRNESS LEVEL PLAYING FIELD JUST MY OPINION .

dosent matter if ya send 1 or 100 you still have to get it the fittest bird wins on the day fact

WHAT IF YOU HAVE A HUNDRED FIT ONES THE ONLY FAIR RACES ARE ONE LOFT RACES AS EVERY MAN IS ON EQUAL PAR FACT.

They done something similar in the SNFC in the early eighties, only 12 birds max, it was designed to stop Eddie Newcombe dominating the results.

Don't need to tell you, he just went on and won the Gold Cup and dominated the TOP of the result just the same. Because he is a fantastic pigeon man, no because he was sending a big team!

The problem is that the MAJORITY won't win anything, they become jealous of the guys who are winning and look for Reasons/Excuses why they are getting beat year in year out, the LAST conclusion they would EVER come to would be looking at THEMSELVES for the reason they canny win. They then band together with only one focus in mind , stop the Big Man winning and ruin his enjoyment as a pigeon man. JMO

if they can afford to send 80 against my 6 why not we have this problem in our club every week especially ybs

yes we all have quality and yes they are increasing their chances by sending larger teams

but it costing them 4x the amount to send them

so it takes them 4x longer to recoup there loses so if i win i'm racing fer nowt for 4 weeks

happy times :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

thats if we win

reading this sounds like some one a bit up there self no offence i dont care if the bloke next to me sent 200 birds atleast it keeps my costs down and i have a guy in my club sent 40 ybs i sent 6 and i came 2nd first time every racing ?? so whats the diffence ?

when racing gets above a certain distance numbers dont count as much as when sprinting, but a man sending a large team against the small team fancier will allways have the advantage in sprint racing, how many times have ourselves clocked the pigeons we dont fancy, how many times have we had the one turn wonders well the man who sends a hundred has nintey times more chances of the one turn wonders than the man sending ten jmo.

I have no problem how many we fly against i am confident we will still pick up prizes, and you could say we pulled our sockes above our heads last year but the big team flyer will allways hold the advantage over the small team man imo
