buster151 Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 not sure where to post this one, but how is the radius from the club determined is it as the crow flies
PIGEON_MAN Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 You will probably find that all clubs use different ways to set their radius, some use latitude and longitude, others might use say a river or a motorway, others say x amount of miles from the club HQ,this would probably be as the crow flies.
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 4, 2012 Report Posted January 4, 2012 Our club radius is specific - it specifies a road, behind it - not in boundary, in front - is
buster151 Posted January 4, 2012 Author Report Posted January 4, 2012 thanks for replies, the clubs radius is 1 mile and im 1.017 miles so will just have to wait and see
Pompey Mick Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 You can try this website to get a reading just to double check. It's ideal for checking training distances as well. http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-distance-calculator.htm
buster151 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 coming out at 1.022 more or less the same distance with this one as well thanks though
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 If you are not in the boundary of one club - are you not then within the boundary of another club?
buster151 Posted January 5, 2012 Author Report Posted January 5, 2012 the boundary of the other club finishes just before my location, so I'm in a sort of no mans land
REDCHEQHEN Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 the boundary of the other club finishes just before my location, so I'm in a sort of no mans land How about speaking to the Federation secretary?
Tony C Posted January 5, 2012 Report Posted January 5, 2012 To get a true distance you would need to PR1CK on a map (as you would a loft) the central point of the boundary, get a loft number/ long/lat for that point (from the RPRA) then request a distance from that point to your loft. lol had to write PR1CK like this as it came out as expletive removed

ovy1255 Posted January 6, 2012 Report Posted January 6, 2012 buster hope you get into the two mile club, and when your in you might propose boundary to be increased to touch other club boundaries -by the way how many members are in that 1 mile radius?
buster151 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 well my application went through, without any objections raised last night, but now Im told will be left open for 2 weeks, to see if there is any objections, I was always under the impression if it went through at agm then that was it or am I wrong?
PIGEON_MAN Posted January 12, 2012 Report Posted January 12, 2012 well my application went through, without any objections raised last night, but now Im told will be left open for 2 weeks, to see if there is any objections, I was always under the impression if it went through at agm then that was it or am I wrong? The correct procedure is for your application to be on the agenda for the club meeting (should not be at the AGM)if your application is accepted by a majority of the members present then at the next meeting of the club you are then voted in.Sorry if you mentioned it before but was the secretary and members aware that you were outside of the clubs radius as this could make a difference when it comes to finally voting you in.
just ask me Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 well my application went through, without any objections raised last night, but now Im told will be left open for 2 weeks, to see if there is any objections, I was always under the impression if it went through at agm then that was it or am I wrong? hopefully you get in :emoticon-0137-clapping: fairplay to the club members if you do
