Out Of Date Aviform Ultimate

Hi this might sound a stupid question but ive been given 3 x 5 ltr containers of aviform ultimate by a fancier who has packed it in they have never been used and the seals are still intact.the only problem is that they expired in 2007.is it best to bin them or chance using them.hes also given me a box of 10 bottles of garlic plus from stock nutrition again not been used but exp.2009.any help appreciated.vader

I personally wouldn't use them m8, but thats just me more so the garlic

I've never been a stickler on out of date products but the date on those products would make me think twice about using them,my opinion bin them mate.

i agree , a little out of date OK , but 5 years ??? = naw.

Id use it aslong as it was still sealed

I was told by a top pigeon vet that they tested canker infected pigeons on 20 year old out of date canker treatment and it cleared them straight up this vet had done a lot of these tests and the medication still worked fine he said aslong as stuff is still sealed and the stuff is not congealed together it will be fine so i cant see why the ultimate should be any differant

I'm kind of with you , I'd use the Aviform , but I wouldn't use the garlic as it's a product that will contain oil and will be rancid

would I give my own children 5 year old Ribena concentrate I found in the back of a cupboard(for instance)

 

the answer is no

 

I binned an expensive bottle of Hemp Oil that was use by Oct 2011, expensive it might have been, but it would cost an awful lot more to replace my birds (IF I could replace them) if anything happened to them by 'penny pinching'

 

It's just not worth it

THEY HAVE TWO BINS AT BLACKPOOL WITH OUT OF DATE STUFF IN THEM .AND SELL IT FOR 50p TO A £5 AND THEY WOULD KILL YOU TO GET TO THEM.///

think of it this way , years ago there was no such thing as out of date your nose told you that (ASK YOU PARENTS)of course use them many would i know i would.

I think i will bin it.to much of a risk as ive just paired them up.cheers for the advise

Ive binned the lot just put them together and there has been no problems with pairings .dont want to upset the apple cart by giving them dodgy stuff.cheers

Thanks i was in two minds wether to use it after reading your comment.but thanks anyway ive taken the advise of the majority and binned it.to much to loose if it was doddgy.i will stick with the cider vinegar as It has done them in good stead so far.cheers

Susan if the 5 year old ribena concentraight had still been sealed whos to say when you opened it it wasnt perfectly ok ? if it smelt ok and had still been sealed id certainly use it

out of dates are just on to sell more its hardly likely still sealed to go off

The vet that was trying stuff was Dr Wim Boddart the versela laga vet he said aslong as things are still sealed and not stuck/congealed together they work fine and the stuff he was testing was upto 20 year out of date

 

Oil is differant Susan Oil goes off very very quick always try and buy small bottles of oil and use it up quick instead of getting a big bottle as oil doesnt keep very good it goes off

 

multi vitimins and such keep fine aslong as they sealed correct as does medication

Good post mate but I think I know their answer ,bin it,they wouldn't take responsibility if any thing went wrong and they would love to sell you some more.
