YOU WILL BE AWARE THAT CURRENT LEGISLATION DOES NOT ALLOW US TO CONTROL BIRDS OF PREY TO PROTECT OUR PIGEONS. DESPITE THERE BEING A FACILITY TO APPLY FOR A LICENCE - NO LICENCE HAS EVER BEEN GRANTED. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF RED TAPE BING USED TO PREVENT SENSIBLE BALANCED CONTROL IN OUR COUNTRYSIDE Please go to the site and leave your thoughts, try and be diplomatic, as joe public will read the comments. Lets help our sport in a small way. Regards alex http://www.redtapechallenge.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/environment/biodiversity-wildlife-management-landscape-countryside-and-recreation/

hawked again Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 i cant see your comment james I've had a look Walter and it is there. It's a copy of a letter I sent to the Scottish Parliament earlier in the year about one of my birds that was killed by a hawk and asking about compo and information on obtaining a licence to trap sparrow hawks in my back garden. The reply was not good. They said that SNH are now in charge of licences but there was no chance that one would ever be issued and Austrian court outcomes (compo) had no influence on our laws so no compo would be paid. Waste of time realy, no one in authority cares but they will look a right bunch in 20 years when there is no wee birds left. Our grandchildren will never know what robins or blackies looked or sounded like.
walterbmasson Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 yes james what i cant understand that SNP THEY ARE ALLOWING ALL PAEDOFILES MURDERERS RAPESTS OUT ON TA OOR STREETS AND LET THE WORLDS MOST EVIL MAN OOT MEGRAHI THE LOCKERBIE BOMBER AGAINST THE HOUSE O COMMONS AND U.S.A RECOMENDATIONS BUT YET THE PLONKER SAYS THERE WONT BE A LICENSE ISSUED FOR REDUCING THESE HAND REARED KILLERS that are killing just for fun and JAMES i dont think that SALMOND has done anything for scotland other than flood the place with immigrants which i must say all will agree we certainly dont need them

Guest IB Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 Was this e-mail sent to all members with e-mail addresses I did not receive any mails Did any of the members on PB get one My first information came from this thread. I got an email afterwards from SHU, I think it was dated 27th., (Tue) but I'm sure I'd already posted on the Website before I got it. And can't for the life of me understand why the proper link to the Website was given on the email. Would have been a simple click on the link instead of a search on Google.
Novice Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 I have the mail and yes I did leave a comment on the web site.Yes a more accurate link would have been helpful but I got there in the end. Before posting I would also have liked some more background information which meant I would have been posting from a position of knowledge.
