Guest Jargre- Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Not legal, just a fobb off.True, seller is resposible and you have legal right to insist that the seller deals with it. Good advice roland.
Roland Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Am going back into COMET when the other half comes back wi the car, been on to head office and kicked some a.. with them, they have refered me back to the shop wi a job number for them to fix, hardware problem they are saying, the brother and law has the same wan, no problems, there top IT guy said its faulty alright, to ask for the store manager, not the muppet on the help desk, > > > > Good to hear, that's far more in keeping with the 'Jock' we know ;D ;D. Threathen to show him what's under the kilt too.... You will get a replacement anyway while yours is being fixed... but... gosh the thought of even removing the sporan will bring beds of sweat to his face lol ;D ;D
ALF Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Not long aff the phone to Dougie and let the mrs speak tae him as she deals with stuff like this in her work and she told him to hit them with the sale of goods act 1971 re..faulty goods and that it should still be under warranty from the store and he should be allowed to get it changed or repaired and to tell them he was going to trading standards about it ??) ;) ;D ;D ;D
Guest IB Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Agree, shop is wrong. Would have said warranty for electrical goods was 2 years ~ not sure on that tho. Another 'angle' is if you have paid by credit card and goods are faulty or shop doesn't supply, credit card company have to refund you.
Guest Davy Fleming Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 COMET will only take back a computer (laptop)if unused or box unopened after 14 days otherwise it will be a repair job
Guest strapper Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 any probems with shops on returning items should imediately be reported to the trading standards, they will even call the store and read them the riot act. i did a few years back with a cd player..when it went back i also recieved a top of the range head phones free. i can tell you,,they dont mess with me,i threaten with all the papers/trading standards the lot. then i give them the calmer act..ok lets try and solve this in a adult manner..we both dont want this to get out of hand we can sort this out between us...only once it hasnt worked and i had the trading standards do it for me.
cemetary Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Just back in from COMET, they have sent it away to Toshiba to have a look at, i was on the phone for just over an hour the day trying to get this fixed, got the IT SPECIALIST from TOSHIBA, he told me to send it back, i have also registered this with the Halifax, now am going to the trading standards in the morning first light, see what they say. Here is a couple of pics, one with it off, the other with it on. Thanks for your help all. Dougie.
