Guest homestead Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 the same thing happened to me about 8 weeks ago and the coloured marker ring was missing as well WHY ?? some sporting people about isnt there. At £1-50 a ring we can expect to loose some more ets rings PURE SCUM thats what they are
just ask me Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 a lot o this happening now wonder if they can be locked on one loft so the thieving gets stopped
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Still wouldnt stop people taking them off.
just ask me Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Still wouldnt stop people taking them off. if people cant change the loft no would they still take them off
Roland Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 Well my view is completely different to most, and some thing I'm not serious lol. But yes at £1 30p a throw many will be took for the wrong reason ... But soon the Secretaries will be under obligation NOT to erase a ring that doesn't belong to the fancier asking to have it changed and placed on another bird... Will be - I believe a Red face aspect where one won't want the embassament of asking. However I personally don't mind, because for £1 30p it tells me that A. someone has looked after it, B. A helpful hint to look up it's track record and see if I wish to feed, water and care for it for 8 - 9 months for it only to be wasted. Young bird? The race it was in etc. Or is the reality that the £1 30 is a bonus and save you breeding culls and money in doing so? So I honestly don't mind a jot if mine go missing. Was a time when the rubber stamp was removed to let the owner know it had been fed and watered and worked it's way back... now a mite dearer eh! But surely the same end result, and I believe we really do, or should want to know... Miffed as one might be regards the 10 ounces of corn it has cost us... well spent I guess. JMO
Guest IB Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 if people cant change the loft no would they still take them off I don't think they take them off to reuse them. I think it's done out of pure badness.
Roland Posted July 21, 2011 Report Posted July 21, 2011 I don't think they take them off to reuse them. I think it's done out of pure badness. Of course there is a lot of bad feeling... not least still of how it was brought in through the back door I.B. I use my ET in one club, where nigh all do ... and not in another where none do, because I don't want A. 17 second advante etc. and B. to keep the peace and have a happy club and spirit.
just ask me Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I don't think they take them off to reuse them. I think it's done out of pure badness. hard to understand some people to be honest why people would do that i will never understand
ALF Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 HAD A COUPLE BACK IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS MINUS THEIR ETS RING BUT FK ALL YOU CAN DO AS WE WILL NEVER FIND OUT WHO DONE IT
THE FIFER Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 a lot o this happening now wonder if they can be locked on one loft so the thieving gets stoppedthey are registered to the member and union , its the clock markers who should check if someone gives a ring in someone else's name,
holmsidelofts Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 they are registered to the member and union , its the clock markers who should check if someone gives a ring in someone else's name, Last weekend i put all my bricon ets rings on my youngsters, i let them out to exercise as usual, i have my sexes split and the cock chase anything that moves, I live in pontypool south wales and know most of the fanciers in this area well. but on this night my birds were flying with hundreds of birds that were out that night, they flew with them for about an hour and they then started to peal off from the bunch they all landed minus one of my cocks, all the rest of the birds that were flying in the area must have landed to as the skys were clear, 20 minutes later here comes my bird that was away minus his ets ring. Its noway that ring came off when he was exercising, It was clear that he must have landed at a loft in the pontypool area probably chasing hens and someone took off its ets ring and threw it back out, All my birds are clearly wing stamped. Its more about the sportsmanship for me, yes the ring cost £1.20, but i would never tamper with other peoples property, I have reported birds myself this year with ets rings on but i would never take them off. Its only scum that do it, the only way to stop this is make it compulsory that all ets rings be registered to the owner when you buy them.Jas.
cemetary Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I don't think they take them off to reuse them. I think it's done out of pure badness. So why can they re-use them when they come from a BOP nest then IB, answer that one. Its only SCUM that take them from the bird, robbin Bestards, THIEFS,
