sapper756 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 I have started training 11 2010 latebreds, they already have had 2 short tosses, and to date, I have dropped 1 , and had another 1 injured quite badly. So I am now training 9. How many PB members are also training 2010 late breds in preparation for the 2011 season? And how is it going? How far do you intend to race them in their first season? Thank Youhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0137-clapping.gif

Guest IB Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 4 latebreds never been in a basket yet. Had planned to start training Sat 9th - wasn't hopeful weather-wise but forecast says to pick up midweek with 'High' back in charge, otherwise 2 weeks after that.
ALF Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 A MATE OF MINE STARTED TRAINING 30 APPROX 3 WEEKS AGO DOWN TO 21 NOW BUT THEY HAVE BEEN OUT OF ELVANFOOT AND PEEBLES A COUPLE OF TIMES EACH NOW
JohnQuinn Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 I take latebreds every year, this year i have twice as many as usual due to an offer i couldn't refuse Anyway there are 21 and they will be treated exactly as those who did race last season. Probably 1st toss around the 14th then as often as weather permits for an April 23rd start. They will be raced like Lanarkshire Lads, out to Peterborough or Leicester then stopped for next year. IF i have 7 to 10 left for the 2yr old stage i will be happy.

Have you been visiting your Godfather again John Much the same here. They aren't late latebreds but they were bred in June and July and only tossed.Won't be giving them any particularly special treatment on the tossing front. If I can get them out of say Leicester or Huntingdon I'll be happy enough
