Guest Tooshy Boy Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 I HEAR THERE IS A LOT OF PIGEON MEN ARE GOING TO USE THE OLD CLOCKS AGAIN . ETS I THINK THEY ARE A BIT TO MUCH. WHAT DO THE MEMBERS THINK.///
dal2 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Hoddom flying club bought a load in bulk before the price went up so will purchase from them but if not then would have had to think!!!!!
Guest cloud 9 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 the price of them ets rings are well expensive think a lo will be turning back to stbs or t3s
Guest IB Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Nothing ever comes down in price I've handed over £32 for my order of 24 rings for my YBs. Nothing would persuade me to go back to my STB., it was even a bind getting it set as a 2nd clock for National.
tiger Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 would not dream of going back stb ,jmo
TREBLE D Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Why do we have to go to the ets companys, why not cut the middle man out and the rpra, nehu, shu or any other go direct to the makers buy in bulk sell to the members and take a little to put back into the sport.
OLDYELLOW Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 have it not using it , as long as we accept the prices the more they'll go up , now can anyone justify the price for a very small chip and a small bit of plastic at the prices there charging its time the unions removed there hands from underneath them and took them to office of fair trading !!!!!
just ask me Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 as far as i know there even cost more in Belgium and Holland not 100% sure on that one if they are there using ets ages there
Guest homestead Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 some of our club members have decided to go back to using there clocks for old birds rather pay the extra cost of rings and reasign last years rings for youngsters. I'm going to stick with the ETS but prices are getting out of hand
yeboah Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 More than happy with the ets system couldn't go back to the hassle of rubbers again but do agree on the inflated costs especially with the high yb losses was thinking of just sending the yb as trainers to start with
jakjak Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 using ets for old birds only me too, the last 3 seasons.only ever owned 26 ets ringsyoungsters raced with rubbers, stall trap, t3 clock!
robbiedoo. Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 as far as i know there even cost more in Belgium and Holland not 100% sure on that one if they are there using ets ages there i,m just home from belguim and at the unikon stand they were 144 euros for 100 rings which makes them the same price as they are over here
ginge Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 i dont see the point in them, for me the whole part of pigeon racing,is seeing ur bird drop, gettin it in and rushing around like a blue ass fly to put rubber in clock,if i asked my club to use ets, they would laugh at me...wots point spending 100s of pounds, wen u can get a cheap stb or t3 todo the same job?
THE FIFER Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 what are you paying for your rings,
PIGEON_MAN Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 These are the current prices for UNIKON rings, old type or the new combi ones.0-49 rings £1.50 each50-99 rings £1.45 each100-199 rings £1.40 each200 and above £1.35 eachRings will only be sent out by recorded delivery which is another £5.00.
THE FIFER Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 my club just got our order at £1-34 each, they were £1-30 last year so only up 4p
PIGEON_MAN Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Where was that from Arch.and what sort of quantity.
Guest Owen Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 I would be very reluctant to go back to a conventional clock but I will if the cost of ETS continues to rise. I can see the problem that the Manufacterures have, once they have made a huge profit from the initial sales of the equipment they only have the rings to sell other than the odd request for cable and the like. The problem we have is that there is not enough competition out there.
THE FIFER Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 the best way is to get your ets rings through your club or better still your Fed they will then be getting the benefit of the amounts
gulkie Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 that's not all our ets systems are all 5 years old and they say thatthe battery life is 5 year there is one in the base unit and one inthe hand set I believe and they are not cheap ets. system suppliers arethief's.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 the best way is to get your ets rings through your club or better still your Fed they will then be getting the benefit of the amountswe bought ours at Blackpool,£1.10 each [bricon],would not go back to any other clock again, think they are great for young birds, you do not have to touch them, with any other conventional clock you will always have to get a rubber off the leg with ets they just walk in without any problem.
