sapper756 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 quick question the loft im putting the boxes in has a partion should i keep it as 2 sections or rip it out? going to put 16 boxes in it I personally would keep it in, if it is not preventing you fitting your boxes, and have a door between the 2 sections, this will enable you to have variations to your set uphttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0137-clapping.gif JMO

sapper756 Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 cheers im getting my cocks back tomorrow cant wait no see my doos for 2 months!what way a should postion the nest box fronts for the cocks to pick there box? if possible remove the fronts and allow cocks to pick their box, this allows birds to escape if a fight for a box between 2 cocks occurs, then once they are settled to a box, introduce the nest fronts. Guest WHITE DOO Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 35 pairs paired on 3 Dec not a egg but lots of nests in the week. Same has happened the last 3 years but i found the cause and killed 10 rats not seen one for over 3 weeks now from buying a rat scare. I have guted and blow gunned all lofts and everything else. eastcoaster Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 12 pair stock all sitting and due to hatch this week (touch wood ) but the yearling are a lot slower only 8 pair down and 2 cocks have abandoned their hens ?

Guest IB Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 11 Chosen hens put to their cock's box for an hour tonight - 2 cool, others are red hot. They'll be left together overnight Thursday, hopefully OK on Friday when other 18 unpaired birds will have the run of the loft and choose their own mate.
jonl6280 Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 12 young yin a few eggs and only 1 of the young yins is rung.
