Talking about sections of the nationals I remember Rab Hamilton of cambus winning the east section averages in the early 90s and he was flying further west than some members in the west section. An outstanding performance

Nothing wrong with Rennes mate, the Gold Cup race has lost it's value since they left this magical racepoint.

About time they were back there

Would i be correct in saying that the last time it got proposed in 2009, the main excuse was that the liberation site was at a premises which only had space for one liberation at a time, which would have meant that the SNFC vechicle would have to move into position to liberate the birds once another organisation had liberated, now seeing that no other orgainistion uses the site then can this excuse be used once more??

Yes Rennes is romantic but if someone is going to propose Rennes at the agm on Saturday then make sure you find out what the latest info is at the lib site.

Rennes, Reims or Liege - look forward to whichever is passed :scotland:

Rennes site was stopped because of lack of amenities. For 30 odd years it was used and was reported to be a bad site :emoticon-0127-lipssealed: These are not my words, these are the words of a past SNFC convoyer. We have not used Rennes since 1999.

Correct Derek but the new site does not have this problem as it was stated at the agm in 2009, possible over crowding of organisations was the new problem.

Could there be any compromise?

The line of flight looks good frae Falasie/LeMans/Bourges and is a wee bit east of the traditional rennes/nantes.

Reims is bang in the middle of them and Liege but do fanciers think that three races frae diffo lines of flight is a good idead for variation?

These racepoints are currently used so should be nae probs that way!

I missed the top of scotland of the map as I ran oot o talent rather than oot else :emoticon-0136-giggle::emoticon-0136-giggle::emoticon-0136-giggle:

Would love to no which points on the french and English coastlines were the safest regarding peregrine populations if some one new the answer to that one ,that would be my recommended line of flight :emoticon-0157-sun:

No disrespect to anyone in the north section as i have the utmost respect for the distance there birds have to fly ,but cannot get my head round the thought of liberating an entire convoy knowing that every pigeon would spend the first night out ,surely birds have to be liberated to give them a chance of homing on the shift or it then becomes a lottery jmho .

Stone cold since Saturday Rab, i jist don'rt like getting called out as if i was against his mid day libs or whatever other idea he has, if the MAJORITY vote for a mid-day lib you'll no hear me greetin about it. The only opinion i have on national racing is it should NOT be from France

i have a question to ask before i decide to join the national

has the national turned in to a fed, taking organization,

some say you have £80,000 in the bank maybe more maybe less

what the money is for, i don't know but reading between the lines the script is going to be about cost of fuel, and why you cant go to races of your choice, but only the choice of the select committee. surely cost will have nothing to do with it if you have £80,000 in the bank.

and i feel that cant. be an issue this year at a agm. unless that said money is earmarked for something that the member know nothing about, taking all other feds like the lanarkshire and others from east surely the profit from those feds, will pay the fuel cost of any race the national wants to go to, and with the national fees and having 500+ members and all birdage been payed for, and owning no hall club hut, transporter, and no baskets, where is the expenditure

that its going to prevent distance racing, so the agm should be straight forward enough to say we are going to Rennie's we have enough money to go anywhere we like, in the kitty

bigda as is using the ferry from Portsmouth to Rennie's or from

hull to Oslo no problem you have the money in the bank.

As you said Danny yer no a member and that means ye don't get a vote and that means naebody counts yer opinion, get yer dosh in the kitty and you'll get into the AGM next year and tell us all, as it is
