It was nothing to do with your server being down unless it was compromised by say a ddos attack, its the software this forum script itself, it can become corrupt for a number of reasons, one being the  upgrade of the type of code it is written in.  I lost my username and found it pretty annoying but nothing much you can do about it.

I tried to log on last night about 9:45 pm ,the site would not allow me saying my user name was unreconised ? re-registered but had second thoughts and did not activate,as you can see I'm back this mo. still with my old name ?????????

What's going on.I do not want to loose my pm's etc.

Just a thought does everyone log out after each session,as I leave myself logged in all the time,once or twice I forgot and then had to get a number of Richard to type in before I could get back on.

Your right there mate,last night was the first time I've logged out for a week, I done a clean up on the comp,that's when it went belly up.But there is a problem somewhere ?????

The forum software wasnt compromised in anyway, shape or form - We now know what the problem was and it has been sorted - All that is left now is for Richard, Archie and myself to keep check of it.

 

I never said it was compromised Chris, I commented on someone saying thier server might have been down?  php script can be a pain in the butt and cause any number of issues, its the same with the flat file that the database is kept on, that can cause problems as well although I never said it was the cause of the 'lost' files although might have been a possibility.  Glad you've sorted it out now, that's the main thing.
