If it gets to a stage where you need a dedicated server then costs can rocket £1000+ per year, if not a lot more.
pjc Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Can't see anything wrong with the £25 and don't think people are put of by it! The reason there are only a few adverts is more likely to be the time of year! A lot have already sorted there pairs and have paired up so surplus birds have already been sold and its to early to be selling youngsters.

I think it's a very fair price to pay.

showman Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 As usual, it's all very simple. If you don't like the price, don't pay it !! Sell your belongings somewhere else, where the rate is better. Personally, I think it's really good value for money. Go to the BHW, and you won't get half a column for £25.00, and that's a one off advert.

p charlton Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 it would be better i the was a charge per advert the person who sells loads of birds they are getting it for next to nowt the person who just sells say once its still cheap but you would be better putting a advert in the bhw because its the same price and more would see it in the bhw while the people who sell a number of times are better of on here buy a long way

One actually answered on one topic.... Otherwise just advertised and sold. Another did the same... But this one then had the audacity to report me to the 'Mod' when I question his bird :-/ . He still only advertsies and sells. Mind he does now get picked up on some of the claims and also asking prices... Thethe big sulks lol.

THE FIFER Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 You can,t ask the seller questions, via an add in the BHW and the next day they are keeping fish and chips warm ;D ;D
Guest joshdonlan Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I personally feel advertising in the BHW is better value if your selling quality proven birds which are going to get more money, as it has a wider audience. If you dont have 'trend' birds or less popular breeds which dont sell for the same as proven racers you arnt getting your value either way. You may aswell give your birds away.
p charlton Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 how many birds will you get advertised in the BHW for £7-50 ?? its 25 a year to be a gold member unless i am wrong if i was just selling birds say once a year i would soon use the bhw i had some pups for sale if i wanted to put them on here i would have to become a gold member i dont sell pigeons so its not werth it to me were i might not even sell one on here so i paid 30 to put them in the paper
catchthepigeon Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 i thought you could pay a one off fee to advertise single items if your not a big time seller so it would only cost you £2.50 to advertise your pups on here
p charlton Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 i thought you could pay a one off fee to advertise single items if your not a big time seller so it would only cost you £2.50 to advertise your pups on here i did not know that lol sorry
Guest lenwadebob Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 I can't recall birds ever not being sold on here, and certainly birds on here are not of an inferior quality to those in the BHW. I know many fanciers who have advertised in the BHW and not sold, hence the reason you often see them being re-advertised a couple of weeks later, and so paying double bubble to sell the same thing.
fletch Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 have read all the post on here and feel that pjc has hit the nail on the head why sales are quite at the mo, i feel that this may stop the once a year sellers who sell the odd bird cheaply, but in the past my dad has sold birds in the BHW and last year i sold some on here for him, we paid the 10% fee on here, but i feel that the £25 is fair as in both circumstances the £25 would of been a lot cheaper, so if i have to sell some more for my dad they will be sold on here, also as each sale works out at around £2 each its a bargain if you use all your 12 sales, as it will be going to help out this super site it has to be done, 1 question i would like to ask is that if the website asked a contribution towards the site surely most people would put £20ish pounds or more towards the upkeep of the site so probley a good deal to the up keep of the site
dwh Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 25 pound isnt much if you sell a few birds over the year,i havent paid yet but will in the new year,it helps the forum so a good idea.i think its a small price to pay for advertising your surplus birds. wish our birds and our rep were good enough to sell on PB.com I'd willingly pay the £25 and the best thing is it gives the lads on the site1st chance at some decent pigeons from genuine fanciers
Guest bakes Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 i think its a bargain ive bought birds from members off here everyone has been a good bird in its own way but if i ever dissided to sell any of my young i would happily put them up on here and pay the prize they ask as thats nothink compare to what it would cost me if i put them in bhw or other press all the best
ALF Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Personally i think it's quite comical to see all the people who are now complaining as they dont get FREE and yes i said free advertising to sell all they stuff they wish to sell come on people get a grip and get into the real world..you cant sell them for free in the BHW so why should you do it for free on here???? Answers on a postcard please :P ;D ;D ;D ;D And i know that some people send in donations after a sale but not all do it so i think this is a good move and very cheap at the price ;) 8) 8) 8) 8)
