 hi all, i have built a base for a 18x8 loft, i am not sure which one to get, this will be my first proper bought loft, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a corridor

in a loft,i can not make up my mind to get one with or without corridor.also has anybody purchased a loft off any of these two suppliers.

(brooklands)and(parkhalltimbers)any feed back would be helpful.

as your base is 8ft wide i would go with corridoor, parkhalls are nice lofts but pricey,

I would definitely go with a corridor as i have built many lofts for friends the reason being

anyone visiting your lofts could view your birds without disturbing them ,not a good thing to have strangers walking amongst your birds, also make sure the corridor is wide enough for access with your baskets . ;)

18 x 6 is a fair decent size for a loft. Now, if you leave it at 8ft deep, my first concern is the birds may become a bit flighty because of the available space they have. I have had sections at both 8ft and 6ft deep, and I would be very reluctant to have them 8ft deep again. In simplistic terms, I believe a corridor can help with the day to day management of your birds. Feeding and watering can both be achieved in a corridor if the relevant receptacles are used, so you don't have to go among the pigeons to carry out the simple tasks.

So, if you must have an 8ft deep loft, I would suggest to have a corridor, which will make things easier for you, and help you keep your birds under better control. OMO.
