Who Do You Think Is The Best

Can the members post who they regards as the best at racing the doos in there area or country be good to see who the top names are about

Depends on the type of racing-Sprint,channel etc.

 

But local to me I'd say John McNeil,Tommy Blair and the Macaloneys

 

All time great for their results and impact maybe Johnny Kirkpatrick,Jock Reid or the Newcombes

 

Best National loft in Scotland this century-W.Kinnear and son

I think in Wales this year one man has been streets ahead having won around 4 Nationals at least. This man in my opinion is top class - Derek Flowers.

All time best was Garry Edmunds. A class above who could have held his own any where.

Currently Barry Andrews, who is after 47 years still at the very top, and one season only ever flew W/H. After having his first birds off myfather he learnt and bought in Busearts, which he has flow nigh ever since. Was a spell when he changes - was ill, and for a few short seasons never really delivered. Bought back the Bussearts from Buther of Newark, and every other year from Louella. As he did again this year.

yes its a great feeling geo,but sometimes just to see your birds homing is more than enough.

in my area i think proberly Andy miller and Barry kinnear both in pentland fed .both score well at club fed and national level

Scottish scene always impressed by john hodgson and son. But think Jim Donaldson is sheer class considering location

 

All time great in England Geoff Kirkland.....and the latest star who will be around for many years at top is Mark Gilbert

in my area baza evans flys well nfc,mnfc,club,fed same with ian wheatley and allan armstrong flys as armstrong & wheatley also p frisby good all round flyer to many top flys competeing around my way each week to mention them all you got to be on the ball or you get left standing around my way class flyers that hold there own also the likes of mark gilbert,darren peters,geoff kirkland,frank tasker,ronnie williamson all well known pigeon flyers that do well each year just a few off top of my head

Lots of good ones in our area, all with great results to match......but I wouldn't say one was better than the other as a lot of things could influence it, examples would be one fancier sending an average of 8, another sends 30....one is able to train when he wants, the other doesn't have a car....one has help from his neighbour, the other doesn't.

 

These are only examples but they are a few reasons I would not say fancier X is better than fancier Y, ......I just try to be happy with our own performances and try to better the previous seasons results.

To me Geo1234, the best ones are the guys who send their birds every week, whether they win or not,and dont moan about others,and help out at the club when they can,etc. These lads/lassies are the back bone of our game, and we all know them, they are in every club and fed in the uk,and with the way things are going in our sport at the moment we need more of them?!!!
