alex wight Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 As i wasnt racing yesterday, i took the opportunity to visit friends in the North of Scotland fed. My first port of call was at Stuart Maskames aka Bluetooner. It was at his house that i picked up, what must be described as, the best young birds i had ever seen to date.I bought x2 from George Taylor, x2 from Chris Donaldson, x2 from Irvine Buchan and 2 from Stuart, and they are all stunners, and bred from their best. I then left Stuarts to go and visit Robbie Higgins aka Robbiedoo in Fraserburgh. I,ve never managed to get up when i was last visiting, so made a point of doing so. We had a cuppa and a good natter, and also handled some of robbies racing team. I then headed back to Stuarts to watch his birds arrive from Ripon, where i wasnt disappointed, as he had a steady race with very good returns. Having spent a very good day in Peterhead, it was off to see Alan Foster aka Black White Flight in Inverurie. I was expecting to pick up 2 pairs of late breds, so you can imagine the look on my face when he ended up giving me 11 from some of the very biggest of names in pigeon racing. Once again i was on my travels to Forfar to visit my mum and dad who were caravaning. After my chip shop tea it was off home. My day finally came to an end at 8pm, and after starting out at 4.30am, i was exhausted, but very excited about next season. So a massive thank you goes to guys mentioned above for their latebreds and hospitality, and i look forward to meeting up once again. Thanks, alex.

Not a problem Alex, I enjoyed your company, it's great sitting waiting on race birds and having a good old blether about all things pigeon related. Good luck with the birds just another 30 to go so I can reduce my feed bill, these latebreds are eating me out of house and home
