Roland Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 I liked them! And as I stated, when Duncan first put them up them 'Spillage Free'hopper / feeders. I bleive that they may well sell well at Blackpool as will tye spillage ones. Was going to ask - may have done as I did intend to, and feel I did - whether he could / would make them in 'Package form' for easy transport, room wise, and assemle via simple to glue togther or however. Still believe that it is a goer.

Still believe that it is a goer. He made these and is thinking of combining the two as the first one is for every day use, the second one is a problem with birds perching and soiling on it. He hates flat pack but I will ask him
dwh Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 we ave 1 very similar in stock loft use it to feed them beans tiptop
Guest bigda Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 thing if the bird turn on them its liable to sh** in the corn
chickadee Posted November 16, 2009 Author Report Posted November 16, 2009 thing if the bird turn on them its liable to sh** in the corn Yes they seem to enjoy doing that, I wonder why???
pjc Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 with the second picture the holes need to be vertical and put a slope on the top to prevent the birds perching on it!
Roland Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 Still have the pictures Chickadee on my Computer. Yes he did say he hated Flat Backs, but for couriers etc. I just feel it is a alternative and personally when asked, a way to go forward with them.
dwh Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 we built our own holes are vertical hopper stands on tray to catch corn the birds scatter
tomkirby1 Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 bandit what price would hoppers sell at just what i am look for

We just got a knock back from the council for the extension to the work shop as our neighbour objected and it looks like they will win as we live in a conservation area and it is classed as over development, the ironic thing is he was building the extension so Billy could work away making the products to keep him busy and make a few busy "The best laid plans of mice and men go awry" so they say, never mind there is always plan B
pjc Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 like this but with round holes drilled in the front. http://www.everythingforpets.com/large_mineral_grit_silo.pet/use.id.5.item_id.1085.dept.143/
Guest Owen Posted November 16, 2009 Report Posted November 16, 2009 I would really like to find a hopper feeder that actually works. I have tried umpteen differant types but without success. The best ones have been the ordinary round drinkers. To try to make the best of the hoppers, I have used single grains rather than mixtures. All have ended up on the floor in the droppings. So I would be very interested in anything that works. A friend goes on holiday regularly and leaves the birds on open hole with automatic drinkers and hopper feeders. He gets over the problem by using the conical chicken hoppers on a deep litter floor. He feeds on the biggest beans he can get. And I have to say that his pigeons always look a picture. Mind you he does not win much but when he does it is always the long races.
