in this day and age where losses are so high why send 20 plus pigeons to a race your heading for trouble.

what are you meant to do with them ,sit and look at them

so sorry for all you lads, it seems allmost every fed coped it,ive had some pm,s that would make you weep,, its now when tempers get frayed and blame starts, convoyers are the first to get the blame, but there were a lot of feds, and a lot of convoyers, surely they ALL never got it wrong,  it does make you wonder whats in the air nowadays, ive noticed , even with training there are days[seemingly quite good ] where all have had losses, then other days, even a bit dodgy where theres been great returns,, clashing could be a thing, but we had clashing years ago, hawks can do a lot of damage to upset a lib, and theres certainly more of them now, but what the answer is , god only knows,,,,i only hope all you lads get more birds home, i feel for you

Sent 62 to Coldstream Lib. 09.00 still 11 short. First birds took 01.51 in the club. Last week from same race point 01.28. Some of us has done ok return wise others have,nt. in our club.

LESS BIRDAGE HIGHER COSTS???  COUNT THE COST OF UR LOSSES IE MATING HATCHING FEEDING RINGING THEN TRAINING WITH THE AMOUNT OF LOSSES I THINK IT WOULD BE CHEAPER PAYING A BIT MORE FOR ENTRIES THAN LOSING THEM.

Less Birds sent = Higher Birdage Cost !!!!!!!!!

SO WHAT !!! if it cost X amount to send a bird then so be it ???

Maybe Pigeon fanciers would be more choosy of what bird they send, "THE QUALITY NOT QUANTITY" comes up time and time but never a true statment was said, Law of averages means you send 60 and some one sends only 1, you stand a better chance of getting the first bird.

Pigeon racing should not come down to MONEY ! first and foremost it should be the care and welfare of the BIRDS (with no expense spaired) !!

Similar experience to JAS: Coldstream last week Laurieston club winner did it in 1h 18 min and this week 1h 38 min.

Leading birds this week were wet. Mine were dry so obviously came the tourists route.  ;D

I'd all home last week [one on Sunday] but dropped 2 this week [none back today, though a couple of strangers came down with my birds this morning, they cleared after 20/30 minutes].

Find it strange same birds same racepoint, yet two don't make it home.   ??)

It usually always can where our race controller is concerned Mike >:( But when we go to the AGM and say anything about the useless **** (who has got us nearly cleaned out just about every season that i can remember since he got the job >:( >:() I think every club in the FED should put a letter in asking for his resignation because he has done this to us a few times now and got away with it ::) ::) ::)

Indeed Archie

It's up to the members to let their voices be heard and not just send Yes men on their behalf to Fed meetings.

My old club in Washington State nominated me for Concourse (combine)  race controller but I was heavilly outvoted on the premise of "What does a woman know about liberating pigeons" I was in a way very pleased that the good ole boy got the job, because he made a complete and utter cock up of it and maybe told the members next time to elect a person who cared about the birds and didn't just say "put them up" even if there was fog at the release point.
