Guest Doostalker Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Tam, if memory serves me Herman Beverdam held sales at Newmains not that long ago. I think they were not a financial success for him though. Maybe I am wrong. Any of your Fed members remember the sales??
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 When you consider that Scotland has only 5,000 members or less which is only 10% of the UK total of Pigeon Fanciers, then you look at the West Midlands region which i think has the same as the Whole of Bonnie Scotland, you can understand why the studs dont want to spend money on fuel and then accommodation and hope that they might have a good sale. I think back in the late 80's and early 90's was the peak for studs coming upto Scotland, you Had Louella, Fountianhead, Top Lofts uk who all used to come serveral times a year across the border.
swilcox Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 The sotish lads have been our best customers this year esp for the long distance pigeons, i will have a chat with Raymond and see what we have for a small auction or pen sale, where is the best place?? Stuart Wilcox
Tony C Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 what do you mean I've visted scotland many times lmao
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Stuart About Lanarkshire Usually Newmains is the place that all the big sales take place.
frank-123 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 newmains is a good area right in between glasgow and edinburgh
collect500 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 This must be a first the scots offering to spend ;D ;D ;D ;D onlyjokinglads
frank-123 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 no no no we only look at the birds we dont buy for god sake man
mealybar Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I think its because the Scots are more selective in what they want and are prepared to travel wherever needs be to get the right pigeons. ;D
jimmy white Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 ;D ;D ;D yes ,,,,on our bikes ;D ;D ;D
Roland Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 The Scots aren't tight ... just canny... canny leand you this and canny let you have have, and canny leave my money alone! lol
