Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I HAD SOME BIRD COMING DOWN FROM TYNE AND WEAR I SWOP WITH MY FRIEND YEARLY, GESS WHAT AMTRAK HAVE GONE AND LOST 3 OF THEM, THEY HAVE GOT THE OTHER 3 AND JUST GIVEN THEM TO ME AND SAID THEY WILL BRING THE OTHERS TOMORROW, SO WHEN THEY COME THEY WONMT BE GETTING FULL PAYMENT : :'(
Guest Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Amtrak always a nightmare, but due to sending birds long distances we all have no choice but to use them sometimes. This is why when I sell birds I prefer them to go fairly locally so fanciers can come and collect and choose their own.I always worry about the birds welfare too,you can always tell them your not happy and want a discount, they can only say no,you never know may well knock you some off.
Roland Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Well personally if the other three come I would pay the fee agreed. not only on the ethicall side, but you will have the birds. May well be a time when you, or someone in the area needs or wants to use the same chappie for fetching and carrying some birds andthey will say get syuffed chum. Your decision of course, bu I bet if you withold some payment it will be yo feeeling guilty in bed and him ursing the pigeon folks. JMO

DFisher Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 had problems myself yesterday, delivered birds at 8.10 pm, said the van had broken down and were trying to put off until today
davebuttle Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Lost my bird, i had taken the day off work to wait in for it. I went to local depot the next day (arranged with the manager) before i went to work. When i got there i said have you got any compesation forms as i was paying for an ovenight delivery. He turned round and said, you dont need to do that take your bird, its our fault have it free. I believe they have been taken over now, but i do not know who by, any ideas? Dave

DOVEScot Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I was meant to get boxes delivered friday so they could be picked up monday, they arrived yesterday, Amtrak excuse was the pickup address was "old school" they tried to deliver to "old school house".....easy mistake but you think if it was easy to make then it would be easy to rectify....."heres your boxes...no for me.....it says "old school"....this is "old shool house"....."old school" is across the road despite phoning every day no one gave this reason until they arrived yesterday......the birds are meant to arrive before 12 noon today :X
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 i sent some pigeons off a few weeks ago i ask for them to bring boxes 3 day on a sraight the didnt, got my own in the end
DOVEScot Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 It says use box once only, but if they are clean and birds were healthy can you not use them again
Guest CS Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Amtrax are a night mare.......... but...... is there other company that could deliver the birds????....
cemetary Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Phoned up amtrax on Monday morning before 9.30 to have some pigeons picked up, the guy took all the details etc, he was going to fax the information down to the other depo for arrangements for pick up, phoned the person to see if the birds were picked up yet, thinking they would have been delierered yesterday, nothing, phoned my local depo this morning to ask whats happening with the pigeons, the guy siad there is no pigeons on the van for to-day, this is just a bloody nightmare when its coming to this, i wish some company would takeover from them, so we can get a good service as this is all the fanciers want, can any one tell me the price for amtrax, i was told if you book online you will be paying cheaper than you doo when phoning.
cemetary Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Just phoned amtrax at my local depo again to see what the hell is going on relating to the birds, they sent the fax down at 10 oclock on tuesday to the sunderland depo, the guy even gave me the phone number for the depo down there, tried 3 times to get through, all i got was the rining tone, totalling 10 minutes of wasted time, he siad the birds would have been picked up on tuesday and delievered to me on wednesday, nothing has arrived, just hope the guy who is sending the birds dosent get pissed of with me due to the fault of AMTRAX again. So i will have to just keep on bloody phoning until i get an answer from them
