jimmy_bulger Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 hi vic. i think you been flying the pond long enuff to not ask this. jimmy
Guest Vic Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Jimmy, youl'd be surprised, How many guys use this method. Iv'e won this way in the past. I THINK IT'S DIFFERENT IN THESE DAYS OF WIDOWHOOD, NOT LIKE IT WAS IN THE PAST. I will be sending half a dozen ex w/hood yearling cocks who so far have had two channel crossings each . (Would have had three in normal years) Most should be between eggs by tomorrows marking. I have a sneaky feeling that they will beat my dads army entrants. Fingers crossed, here goes! Regards, Vic.
jimmy white Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 I WOULD SAY A NO, TO YEARLINGS DRIVING , BUT THERES THE ODD ONE THAT CAN HANDLE IT, ,,BUT,WITH PIGEONS, YOULL ALLWAYS GET AN EXCEPTION TO THE RULE
jimmy_bulger Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 hi vic. well mate you know your own birds better than me ,if you dont go for it you wont get it best of luck . jimmy.

Guest Vic Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 With the latest French fiasco, I may be in with a shout now! ;D ;D No! in all sincerity, I really did fancy them yearlings from 500 mile. I remember having a red cheq cock that won a hard Rennes 2 race, and a fortnight later came close to toping the Amal from Niort, (in the days when racing pigeons were enjoyable, and not destroyable) Where did I put that noose? ;D ;D
Roland Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Yearling pee 500 miles. Golly Jackson was flying them nigh over a 1000 mile a centuary ago. The fellow - can't recall his name was just training as y/b's and devasting the opposition at the distance - all distances in fact. But it was THE DRIVING we was replying to, and yearlings are either great... or very poor, many lost, when in this condition.
Roland Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Was in Cananda last year when 400 miles and over are flown back to back! Yes two weeks on th trot!

Roland Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Mind if there had been a North, or even East rd available the birds would still have been in peak condition AND would have a race!
