Futhest distance we have timed on the day from is Bergerac 605, but it was an hell of a tail wind. Furthest on the day on a good working day was Angouleme 547 mile lib at 0600 timed at 21 25. Pau 704 miles next morning, and Palomos 825 in quite a few days   lol.

ours is Montlucan i think to us is about 620 miles we were 1st & 2nd , 1st fed aswell

i think with 2 Krauths threw the Flying Dutchman & Pandora lines , it was a long time ago now !!!  ;D

longest I have been at is Falaise last year just over 500 miles, never won it right enough but felt good to time in from

 

nantes national 605 miles ist fed ist region 2cnd national ,,same bird ,same racepoint 12 section 25th national , same bird scored well twice from scottish national sarilly  , b4 having his wing broke at 4 years old

Sent to bourges 7 times which is 550miles to my loft. Won it 2 times and was 2nd 3times, always on the 2nd day though, normally early morning. Just need that extra special pigeon to make it on the day me thinks, as mine generally come back fresh enough tp have made it on the day.

 

I think your birds need further m8.I had birds the same , always 2nd day, but as fresh as paint.I have sent them to 628 miles twice now and have been 12th and 30th open SNFC.Horses for courses

POITIERS 500 miles, clocked 3 on day and only 5 in club on day and 44 in fed on day , best day racing pigeons yet, hope we can repeat again this year. 2, 4 year old cocks on widowhood and 1 ,2 year old natural hen.

on the topic of extreme distance racing.

it is interesting to note the work of the late g. shanks of B.C.

his goal was to breed a bird to fly 2000 miles in 4 races or less and he had a voyageur supreme award listed with the C.U. for this.

in 1973 g shanks and g staudinger flew birds 450 miles june 2 ,704 miles june22, and 794 miles july 12.

this was the 800 mile world record that year with birds home about 11 am the second day and just under 1100 ypm.

indeed this was some bit of flying.

shanks believed a 1000 mile day bird could be possible...a 1 am release up north with 22 hours of flying time. who knows?

anyone with a guinnes book of records?? what was the bird that had recorded longest flight,, dropped dead 7 miles from its loft ,,,,at nine  elms ????

cannot find a name for the pigeon but it was owned by the duke of wellington it was released  from a ship at ichabo west africa on the 8th of april 1845 it flew around 7000mls before dying 1 mile from home 55 days later on the 1st of june 1845

That's why the BHW diary is now just like any other diary it used to give all these snippets of information including the longest flying pigeon great for the pigeon men now it's just commercialised can buy a diary for a pound, does the same job.

When racing in Zimbabwe one of the longest races was Umhlanga Rocks (Durban) to Bulawayo then some on to Harare about 800 miles as the crow flies to Byo.but with the heat and the mountains it must have been a good bit longer. Drove it once that was enough, another was Lusaka to Bulawayo the birds were airlifted
