Guest Gareth Rankin Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Can't help but notice that the boys in England opt to chose Sprint/Middle distance pigeons (all fantastic pigeons), were as with the Scottish thread all have chosen for the great distance that have flown from France to Scotland. This pigeon has to be one of the best around. “Bergerac Hen” Bred and Raced by R & C. Chambers winner of 2, 3, 5, 20, 37 S.W. Section 2, 6, 47, 67, 135 Open MNFC Bergerac 553 miles plus 3 x R.P.R.A. Awards and is one of only three pigeons ever to be awarded the Diploma of Distinction from the Midlands National. cheers Gareth
Chris Little Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 The legendary 'Pest' of Geoff Kirkland Winner of 1st Open MNFC Angouleme and 1st Open BBC Nantes as well as other numerous top national prizes. His bloodlines have done very well for us.
Roland Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 remember taking Twilight out of it's pen when I was 12, it fetched the then new world record price of £625 I believe. Was owned by the King Brothers. Vic Ribinson's 'Home Alone' etc. But then one could consider the yearlings that have flown the 000 milers etc. List is endless of course. But Breeder, well I think Stamvater would take all the beating. JMOT

Yep i lost some great birds too from Thurso this year. Only, as of now got 2 back out of 10. One hen won the Scottish averages twice on her own. Was, with her daughters only day birds in club two years back in one club, and 2 of her daughter were with one other only day birds in another club, when only 9 in total in Fed. Was a Delbar. Glad I have a little of her blood still in loft. Yes I too miss her.
