bewted Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Imagine they will be few and far between even this morning, based on reports of birds being lofted flown out approx 8/20 miles from Lib . this could be interesting then if no birds make it in race time !!!!
pjc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 If the race closes at vel 300 ypm then that will be about 10 tonight.
Guest milkyal Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 If the race is void, which i think it should be, is there anything in the rules stating what happens to the prize money?
pjc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 prob carried over to make people want to enter again!
Guest strapper Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 as i stated yesterday race should be cancelled get as many birds back as poss and race another day,but lessen the distance 30-50 mls. maybe from a registered lib site. then all will be fair. now any birds in now will have the thought...did they fly it or?. any birds in now will not be assumed a true winner by some, if it arrived yesterday then it would have, because nobody knows how it got there. so as i said race should be cancelled and raced again in a week or so. only my opinion.
Guest milkyal Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I e-mailed hopetoun house yesterday to ask what the weather was like there and if anybody see the lib waiting for a response.
pjc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I would have thought somebody would have filmed the liberation, that would tell the truth about the conditions but we could all read on here what the conditions were enroute!
Guest tom123 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 has to a closure on the race i belive that there isnt one in regards to vel has all birds are going to the same loft location then it is the first 100 arrivals that take the money
gangster Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 lets hope some make it through today and most follow on ..
stevie jack Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I would have thought somebody would have filmed the liberation, that would tell the truth about the conditions but we could all read on here what the conditions were enroute! the liberation was filmed by europa the weather at hopetoun house was fine
Guest chrisss Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 the liberation was filmed by europa the weather at hopetoun house was fine has anyone got any idea what the weather was like, when they went up,there are at least 3 different versions now
Guest milkyal Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 the liberation was filmed by europa the weather at hopetoun house was fine Do you know if this will be put on a web site, if so do you know which? This would kill all doubt about the weather.
Roundo Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Here are some pictures I took at the liberation yesterday morning. Colin.
Guest milkyal Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 well looks overcast to me, cant see any sun. But nice pics, thank you
Michael J Burden Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Roundo thanks for the pictures. You can clearly see definition in those clouds with brights spots too. I liberate my birds when I train in such conditions.
Guest milkyal Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Roundo thanks for the pictures. You can clearly see definition in those clouds with brights spots too. I liberate my birds when I train in such conditions. Yer but not 300 miles
ch pied Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Yer but not 300 milesdont forget the 150ml jump
superstar Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Roundo thanks for the pictures. You can clearly see definition in those clouds with brights spots too. I liberate my birds when I train in such conditions. All well and good when they are your own just up the road and not thousands of eyes watching but from experience over the years them sort of sky's spell danger for racing!
JOHNNY WISHBONE Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Roundo thanks for the pictures. You can clearly see definition in those clouds with brights spots too. I liberate my birds when I train in such conditions. No from 320 miles!
tomm1e Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 in my experience pigeons always struggle to find their bearings when cloud cover is 100%. they need breaks and chunks of blue to get them on their way.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 has to a closure on the race i belive that there isnt one in regards to vel has all birds are going to the same loft location then it is the first 100 arrivals that take the money run under rpra and rpra club so ruls apply same as anyother race
