Guest strapper Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 my club has lost around 4 members for next year, one has passed away and 1 moved to a different route club and 2 members have packed in the sport. prices/costs and work commitments are a main reason for members leaving clubs.
frank-123 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 think we might be gaining some more this year
b.massey Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 We have stayed the same. Sadly only 6 lofts though. There was a possibility of maybe needing to join up with other local club but we are ok for time being. Just hope it can last a while. Think there used to be around 20 lofts at one time a few years back. Shame

Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 sadly my old club is finishing up this year after having been going for about 60 odd years, because I moved away no other members were interested in running the club so it will now mean a lot more travelling for them to get to another club and at least one member has decided to call it a day altogether and I think he will probably give all his birds away , he has flown birds for about 50 years but like all the other members he did not want to run the club but I am looking forward to starting afresh in a new club .
Guest Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 We lost three, two hardly flew anyway, and the club sec. We have gained 4 new members, two of which are members on here! .....and the new club sec must be a right glutton for punishment, what an absolute mug he is!! ......But i'll do my best! LOL
pjc Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 only lost 1 member, he only joined 1/2 way through the youngbird season because he thought we would get ets grant, now resigned so he won't have to pay oldbird fees! Will then prob reapply for youngbirds or if he thinks grant approved!

Michael J Burden Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I think our twn has no club based here. It used to have 40 members. I have to travel 24miles round trip to basket. Only a few in this town sent last year and only some old bird races.
Fair Play Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 One passed away,One undecided and Three left for various reasons
