Tony C Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Got little midges flying around in the garden! must be eating the rat bait soaked in anti-freeze
Guest Vic Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 It's like a midsummers day here. It must be one of the best December days on record. As Tony says, hordes of midges hovering over the lawn. Truly remarkable! Is this the start of Spring? or even Summer? One never knows these days. I' m expecting to see a December butterfly at any moment, or perhaps maybe a bumble bee. LOL.
GRAHAM MITCHELL Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Nice and sunny in Patna Ayrshire but starting to get cold again . In for another hard frost tonight.

PigeonTracker Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Just thinking off the top of my head here but perhaps a good idea has been stumbled upon with this thread that could help fanciers and couriers alike work more efficiently? We had vans stuck in cumbria and yorkshire last wednesday evening when it started throwing it down with snow and roads almost imposible to drive on. We were forewarned of how bad the roads were in Aberdeen/Fife etc so gave extra time for those pickups and deliveries but we never got warned about how bad cumbria was going to be until we were half way into it. So what I'm suggesting is would it be a good idea for this and other forums to set up a special area where we could all report on how the weather conditions are etc? We could even expand this onto local traffic issues and so on, the concepts are endless on this and would definately go some way to improving every courier service. Just a thought.
Guest Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Don't always see eye to eye with you mate, but credit where credit is due, A damn good idea
PigeonTracker Posted December 6, 2008 Report Posted December 6, 2008 Don't always see eye to eye with you mate, but credit where credit is due, A damn good idea Thanks, means a lot to me. All I want is for couriers and fanciers to work with each other no matter who they are, not always good at getting my messages across in the right way but am going to try a lot harder in future.

jimmy white Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 very good idea,P.tracker, something like this will benefit alot of people yes i agree with this , very sensible , and as just said would benefit many people [i remember one year comming back from blackpool , the roads were blocked at the shap area, we had to stay a night in a hotel ] we werent warned of this weather b4 leaving blackpool,, so probably a good idea for all

PigeonTracker Posted December 7, 2008 Report Posted December 7, 2008 what a terrific day...sunny, calm....in contrast to last weekend. managed to do a bit on lofts. I noticed your in Norfolk? How do they look after the lanes up that way? Are they usually snowbound at this time of the year? Thanks
