ALF Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Every fed and there granny usually has a sale at this time of year so why dont we in Lanarkshire have 1 to benefit our fed towards us hopefully getting new transporters sometime in the near future? Maybe about time this was looked into by the officials of our fed as it's been a long long time since our fed had a sale :
Guest bigda Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 great idea Alf, maybe the committee can look into it, and run one or two, i think they have a meeting shortly, yes it must be three years since our last one, good on you alf for speaking up for our fed, as i thought it was getting over looked.

If we want state of the art transporters then what we have in the bank ain't gonnae get anywhere near what we need to buy them...
REDROCKET Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 iv'e saw the transporter they nead tidied up cleaned up a coat of paint filled with new baskets cos the ones thats there are recked and constantly being abused at every pick-up point by putting the ladders up on the front of them the majority of the baskets that get fixed its new doors and new fronts and maybe if they had been getting a coat of varnish for the last 20 odd year they'd be in a better state. but go ahead with you sale idea its agood gesture.
Delboy Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Alf and Bigda, take the bull by the horns and the two of you run a sale for your fed. Go 4 it

ALF Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 Alf and Bigda, take the bull by the horns and the two of you run a sale for your fed. Go 4 it It's ok saying that Delboy and i would happily help to try to get donations but would any monies raised go towards the new transporters we need mate??? Or will we still be sitting a few years from now saying we still need new transporters???
Guest WINGS 04 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 i think if you even put up a prize for one of the races say B/B would help get more ppl involved

ALF Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 Its up to the members to decide at the AGM what happens with the money in bank or the funds generated with sales etc. Thats why i'm saying if we were to have a sale this year would it go towards us getting new transporters as nothing was done at out last AGM :-/
Guest bigda Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 one sure thing they are never going, to get any cheaper, bart mention a company that can make them here in the UK, and if it means us employing 1-2 driver ful time so be it and one part time driver then the trailers that we have can be renovated and watering sorted out for three sides and baskets made wicker or metal to suit i know this, there anit no more than £20,000 for each trailer fit out, £8,000 for baskets £28,000 per trailer top end and at £24 pound a basket going into our own fed is not bad money.

Guest bigda Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 think thats they way forward for us a sale for transporters, as it needs to be done, before we are forced in to it by defra, or some such pen pusher, and are all levied £250 per member all feds will have to upgrade sometime
HOMER49 Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 iv'e saw the transporter they nead tidied up cleaned up a coat of paint filled with new baskets cos the ones thats there are recked and constantly being abused at every pick-up point by putting the ladders up on the front of them the majority of the baskets that get fixed its new doors and new fronts and maybe if they had been getting a coat of varnish for the last 20 odd year they'd be in a better state. but go ahead with you sale idea its agood gesture. Hi The trailers are 37 years old and by there best. Refurbishing them is a waste of time and money compared to buying 2 s/h 2006/7 trailers. If trailers is the way the Fed members want to go. Cheers Homer 49
